I think there’s at least half a chance you’re finding football in general to be a pile of **** and misdiagnosing the problem as the Pozzo ownership of Watford, because they’ve coincided. I’m not sure there are any wholesome owners in the PL and probably very few left above League 1 these days.

Football has lost a large number of former fans. The dreams and aspirations of yesteryear have been killed by television companies. The connection of communities to their clubs at the higher levels of the game. The sheer greed of all involved. From parasitic agents, players who live in a bubble to the companies themselves fleecing British customers. The constant hype and saturation of the 'product'. Football has lost sight of what it used to be. A competitive sport.

Clubs becoming the facades of sovereign nations and controlling all matters related to the sport to their benefit and running roughshod over the rest. I only now watch us and CONMEBOL, and major international tournaments. The rest of the time one is indifferent or unbothered. Only watch the match. Ignore the drivel before the game, during it and afterwards from numpties whose grey matter if scraped out would be lucky to cover a sandwich.

I am shocked, shocked and offended at the very notion.

In fact one of the reasons I'm so up in arms today is because the Pozzos have had the temerity to sack a manager when I've not even mustered the slightest campaign to get Pearson out. How do you think this makes me look?

I didn't say they should have one during a pandemic did I. Don't be ridiculous. I asked when was the last 'At your place'. The shutdown didn't start until March, plenty of time to have arranged something before then, but because things were not rosy they prefer to hide away.

You mentioned Zoom so I presumed you were expecting or at least intimating an online version.

Anyway, I can't find when the last two At Your Place were. I was trying to find the time between them to get a truer feel of hiding away, if there is one. The only things I found in an admittedly quick search were a chance for 100 season ticket holders to meet the new Messiah (Pearson) shortly after he was appointed in December and a club Golf Day on January 29th. I've no idea what form that takes, who's there or anything about it.

There is a link which appears for the official site about a ballot for one of the events but as the site is down I can't say when this was for.

I get your frustration/anger at the lack of news and up to date information, many feel the same. It's just something they've never done and we were told by the poster from Udinese (I can't remember his name!) that this is what would happen when they bought the club. So to expect it and to be continually frustrated by it seems a waste of energy to me.

Duxbury was far more chatty in the past, and when we're having a good season they put on plenty of fans forums. Things have definitely taken a change in direction. They have kept quiet for far too long, especially when crazy things are happening. Sacking 3 managers in one season, that really needs some sort of explanation.

Fans are really being kept in the dark. Everything is such a big damn secret, and it's not only frustrating it breeds distrust and starts eating way.

The club really have to start communicating or fans will start to feel resentful. Once you lose the trust of the fans, it only turns out one way. They need to nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand.

I did say in my initial response to you Duxbury has gone quiet and he's the one who should be questioned with regards to keeping supporters informed. I still think Covid-19 will have played a huge part in why he's been quiet as have the results on the pitch.

I've just remembered an event near Bank station(?) which got cancelled for some reason. Didn't they try taking these things further afield? I can't remember the specifics so I may be totally wrong but I'm sure a fans Q & A got cancelled so that may have been why they stopped.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just surprised so many get so worked up about not being told everything, or as near to everything as would be reasonable, about why the club makes decisions or the day-to-day/week-to-week running of the club. The club will tell us all what they want us to know when they want us to know it, it's as simple as that. They're in control of the release of news for the most part, it's just the way it is and it isn't going to change.

This is the statement from the club:-

"Watford FC confirms that Nigel Pearson has left the club with immediate effect.

Hayden Mullins, with Graham Stack as his assistant, will take up the position of interim head coach for the Hornets' final two Premier League fixtures of the 2019/20 season.

There will be no further club comment."

No thank you for your services. No mention of Craig Shakespeare.

Even if there was a massive fall out, what he has done to get us into a position to stay up should have been officially recognised.

To issue a statement as terse as that, is just a f&cking joke.

Completely agree with this. In the early days the communication with the fans was often infrequent but much better than it is now. It does seem they have retreated within themselves as things have got difficult but would be less conspiracy theories flying around if they would talk to the fans more

The Pozzos have been great but it’s just gone a bit stale the last year or so. This has caused a lot of mental breakdowns in Watford it seems.

Maybe just sell us to those guys?

Regardless of the outcome on Sunday's game, I think Pozzo's ownership has run its course. Under Pozzo we have had some wonderful memories, including 7 randomers signing on the final day of the transfer window, liquid football under Zola and Jocanovic, some exciting signings, a new stand and a redevloped stadium.

However, the club right now just looks totally toxic to me. For many years now the playing squad has been filled with too many journeymen who are looking for a big paycheck in the 'best league in the world' and will not bust their gut for the team. We have some decent players technically but simply not enough of them have the heart, desire and bottle to do the shirt proud. That is a disservice to the club and to the supporters.

The hire and fire culture that Pozzo has brought in is, in a word, nauseating. Certain players down tools and time and time again, the journeymen head coaches get fired after a bad run of form only for another to take his place and before you know it the wheels are in motion again.

I'm grateful to Pozzo for investing in the club and saving us from administration, I really am. However, I truly believe that he has taken us as far as he can and a change of ownership would be best for all. Granted, there are a lot of conmen and tricksters out there so the club will need to be sold to the right individual(s), but at this moment in time I cannot take another season of watching this and I don't think I am alone in saying this.

I agree with a lot of what you say, but sometimes it's better the devil you know.

The Pozzo's have been the best owners since Elton John. Certainly no one else comes close to them in recent years. This goes to show it's tough getting good owners. Watford were a unique fit for the Pozzo's, but we're still small as a club. We're now a Championship club again, so we cannot punch above our weight anymore and we wont look as attractive to an investor. We'll also have a lot of debt, which will severely strangle us if we stay in the Championship for more than a couple of years.

The Pozzo's are the type of owner we need. Up until now, they've been smart, but for some reason they gone completely off the rails this season. I don't know what's behind the decline in their ability to run a football club, but it's there for all to see. From the outside it looks like a complete mess, and there's no comment from the top so fans can only guess as to what's going on.

So maybe it has run its course, but unless there is a seriously better owner on offer (which I doubt), I'd rather stick with what we've got....for better or worse.

I think they should stay and sort this mess out, they need to look in the mirror and see that somethings are just not working.

They’ve bent the rules in the past most the time in our favour but also getting away with some serious stuff loaning a squad of players to good for the championship, the letter from the bank which saw the back of one of them taking the hit to make them look innocent.

They need to stop micro man management imagine some one watching you at work, with less quals less experience less knowledge and this person is judging you on wether or not you’re good enough to do this job.

Gino needs to get shot of some of the so called top dogs and get some real football men in the club, then stop this bull of watching every move a head coach makes and give a guy a chance.

The Pozzo’s got us here they also got us into this mess they need to hold their hands up make some bigger decisions than what they’ve been doing and start to get us out of it. And just like our recent performances on the pitch I can’t see this happening any time soon.

I basically agree with most of what you say about the Pozzos, but hold on there a minute fella, we aint a championship club just yet, as we could still get ourselves out of this pile of **** we find ourselves in right now with something from the Arsenal game.

In fact we probably have a TRIPLE WHAMMY reason to do well against The Gooners on Sunday.

First and foremost is of course: - Our Premier League Survival.

Secondly: - Hopefully they will not be playing a strong team against us with the FA CUP FINAL being only six days later.

Thirdly: - And again hopefully, our guys will be pissed off with them for having a major factor in the position we find ourselves in right now.

Because probably as The Gooners beat City in the SF at the week-end, PG put out the team we had to face last night whereas had City won that game we might have played against a City team more like the one Muff faced when they played them. Plus of course The Gooners put us further in the mire, by losing at Villa Park for the first time in 21 years probably because they played their reserves.

All very plausible reasons, and no doubt I'll be clinging to this reasoning in the coming week.

But I know, deep down, that our form is so shot to pieces, there's very little chance, even if we were to play garden gnomes painted in Arsenal colours, would we win.

Yes, Arsenal will have one eye on the FA Cup; yes, they may field a slightly weaker team; yes, the prospect of actually reaching the last game may shock them into some type of performance.....but I'm doubtful it will be enough.

If Villa win, that's us done. They now hold all the cards. They are ahead by 1 goal on GD and have scored more goals than us. Meaning if we match their result they will finish above us.

The most likely scenario to play out, which goes our way, is for us to keep it tight and Villa go a goal down during the course of the afternoon. That would put us safe on the live league table and would offer some hope and excitement.

If Villa draw, we have to win, if Villa win, we have to win by 2 more goals than them. There is a case where we could lose by 1 goal, and Villa lose by 3 and we stay up, but then that brings in Bournemouth also. They would also have to fail to win in order for us to lose and stay up.

With the balance of probability, it's going to have to take something extraordinary for us to stay up now. Football miracles rarely come to order.

You forget if they both lose we only need a point and I think that is very possible and not an extraordinary scenario at all.

I can’t believe that people think they have a chance.

On paper there are scenarios that make this possible.

Football is not played on paper.

In reality the shambles that is the Watford team will be 1-0 down within 10 mins.

It’s laughable to suggest they will do anything other than limp towards another comprehensive defeat. The useless cnuts.

Save yourself the heartache, they are down and good riddance to the lot of them.

For someone who hates the club, does not want anything more to do with the club you certainly cannot help but write reams and reams of the same arguments over and over again. As you said yourself instead of writing the same thing over and over again use the time to do something you enjoy. Just a thought.

Then take your own advice. Stop wasting words here and do something else with your time. Unfortunately anything we say here is not going to bother Gino one bit given that there is zero communication between fans and the hierarchy and no explanation of what exactly fatty and Roy do to justify being paid or why Scott is a door mat. Everyone that deep down loves the club is hurting badly. I am in a very low mood.
