If it turns out sacking Pearson at this stage is just a Gino tactical decision and not the result of a "******* BIG BUST UP" between him and Pearson, then I am sorry but I will probably be joining the "POZZO OUT BRIGADE"

At the moment until we know more I am on the fence with this one

Yep, when this thread started, it was roundly criticised by most who still harbour lots of goodwill for the Pozzos.

They were the ones who took over from Bas - they were always likely to have banked a lot of goodwill for not being him - a man who really does have no business owning a club. From his personal life, his embarrassing persona on camera, his red safety hat, his questionable, mystery backing, his safe keys, his missing screens, it was always going to be tough to follow him with a worse candidate.

And the Pozzi swept in like heroic Italian heroes. Like Aeneas, saving us from years of being at sea and leading us to the promised land, our Rome, the Premier League - but it all started going sour for me a couple of years ago.

The 'model.' God knows, the so called 'model.' We believed we had owners who were doing things differently because they knew something that the naive, stupid billionaires at other clubs didn't get. Our smart, football minded, business men. They did proper scouting, unearthed gems, had a system. We were gaming the whole thing by doing things differently and punching above our weight, weren't we? Turns out, notsomuch.

We were buying cheap defenders for the price of a lower Championship standard player and - lo and behold, they were lower championship standard.

We unearth a load of undiscovered players from all over and bring them into our squad, where they've barely managed a start between them, let alone a league goal.

We sign players who never play for us and probably have no idea where Watford is on a map, that's if they don't manage to get their lawyers to cancel the contract once they sober up after their signing on party.

We've created a culture where the players know they can cash their paycheques into their late 30s without really ever doing anything worthwhile. The coaches come and go, but the likes of Foster, Deeney, Holebas, Dawson, even permacrock Janmaat - all have contracts which may outlive the flipping status of Vicarage Road as our home ground.

The Pozzos have utterly sickened me, time and time again. I've been in a very small minority, but I think more and more people are starting to see that they are just well and truly out of their depth in the Premier League environment.

The English league is not like the Italian one. There are differences. The Pozzos have seemed never to try and adapt anything, expecting instead the world to bend to their will. This season has been pending for a while and it's been spectacular in it's awfulness. It's all coming together and they are reaping their whirlwind.

My only hope is that this is part of some Granada style exit strategy and they will soon be ******* off, because I'm sick of the club under their stewardship.

I’ve decided I definitely want them to stay. We’re never winning anything so might as well have some other kind of entertainment. We’re now ‘that club’. It’s brilliant PR. Maybe we’re trying to attract new high flying business fans from around the world who admire the zero sentiment and absolutely ruthless couldn’t give a **** decision making?

Yes. Because every club not owned by Gino in the world, is owned by Bassini.

Seriously, our cuck fans are so traumatised by Bas that they don't realise he's not the norm in football owners.

Absolutely true but then what’s the norm in football owners for clubs around our size?

I heard the other day Wilma's maiden name was Slaghoople.

That, I think, is the correct term for an endless conveyor belt of managers at a tinpot club in Hertfordshire.

As they say in the LMA monthly newsletter, 'All aboard the slaghoople!' when the Watford job comes up.

If there are suitable and sensible owners ready to buy the club then I will be open-minded about The Pozzo family leaving but until then I am happy with them.

Unfortunately this latest sacking has given all the pozzo out brigade a chance to get on their bandwagon again and spout the usual nonsense . They have gone a bit bonkers with the pistol this year and I agree but up until now their decisions have always been sound .

Try to take a step back and think rationally of the defence and prosecution of the Pozzos.

    For

    1. Saved us from Baz. Whether you have a revisionist view of history or not Baz was bad, really bad
    2. We played some great football in the Championship and had some great times. Even if someone else had taken over from Baz unless they were prepared to bankroll the club which has its own pitfalls I suspect we would have done well to hold our own in the championship. We are a small town club that has punched above our weight on and off in the last 40 or so years
    3. We’ve been to Wembley 4 times
    4. We’ve been in the premiership 5 years. I think GT had us in the old first division for 5 years before Basset messed us up and I’d say it was easier in those dayS as the money gulf was less
    5. We’ve seen players like Richarlison, Deloufeu, Abdi and Sarr.
    6. We’ve spent c.35m on a player
    7. We’ve actually had some good times in the premiership though people choose to forget this
    8. We’ve got a developed ground and talk of a new ground as well as better overall facilities
    9. We’ve had 2 of the greatest wins in this history of football: Leicester and Wolves

    Against the Pozzos

    1. They’ve bought some players that haven’t worked out and have lots of players out on loan
    2. Not invested in defence (agree with this one)
    3. Don’t communicate well enough
    4. Sack a lot of managers so the pundits don’t like us
    5. Are Italian (thankfully I don’t think this is an issue for most fans but I think it is for some)

I don’t know what most people are expecting instead of them and haven’t heard any viable alternatives. For those wishing us to go down in the vain hope that we can rebuild Your delusional - it would be an utter disaster if we go down. We are dire at the moment and I fear we will go down but still get a sense of perspective. A great man once said:

“Better to have risen and fallen, then never to have risen at all. “
