The classic non-football playing professional footballer. 25 years old now and yet has only started 24 games in any senior league in his whole career. Been unable to get in the Leganes team all season.
The alleged striker Jerome Sinclair. Last start for Watford: 29th Jan 2017 in the 0-1 Cup debacle at Millwall.
Goodness knows how much his solitary goal v Burton Albion has cost us ( about 8 million) including wages I reckon!
Watford are a great club to do a FIFA or Football Manager career with, we've had loads of players who are actually quite good who have been on our books with seemingly no intention of ever actually playing for us. Juanfran the right-back (not the Atletico one) a couple of years ago was a gun for me!
Its signings like Sinclair that are genuinely baffling. Of course some signings look sound but don’t work out for whatever reason, but I just cannot see what the justification was for laying out £4m on a player plus a few million quid in wages who has done nothing. A true, genuine waste of money.
Missed 15 matches October / January with a torn tendon. Will be interesting to see if he stays in Spain or comes back. Seems like a Championship quality player, instead of a Premier League player. Maybe a useful piece? Pussetto another funny one. Played regularly as a sub before COVID, but only one appearance since the restart. Could envision him also being a useful Championship player. Penaranda, what a waste. The great player of the future who has turned into nothing.
I have no idea whether Penaranda would ever have been a good Premier League player, but Jesus, we didn't help him. We could have had him in Spain for the requisite time to get him a passport, but no, we had to loan him to Udinese and leave him in the lurch again
