I understand Troy is one of the "guests" at the private At Your Place event tonight-Glenn Sports &Social club-members only. I cannot imagine there wont be a question on his views let alone the teams recent habit of conceding goals to other teams substitutes and the non impact (apart from Okaka fouls) of ours of late.

    Ludicrous. He played five games.

Yes and achieved a higher standard of football per game than any of the other candidates.

If you think it’s ludicrous, vote for somebody else.

I note you’ve not said who you are voting for though. You just used your post to put down the opinions of a fellow poster.

    Rather sad.

There was an earlier thread about this where I said I'd vote for Doucouré.

Chalobah played five games, one of which was the 0-6 at home to Man City where we were so outclassed that no-one played well. Another was the drab 0-0 against Brighton. So really that's a body of work of three performances you'd be willing to award POTS on (Liverpool, Bournemouth and Southampton). You might as well give it to Deulofeu as his performance against Chelsea was probably the stand out individual performance of the season.

Surely the point of Player of the Season is to acknowledge the player who has made the biggest contribution over the course of the season?

Has there been someone who has been ever present in the starting 11 all this season, and if not who has made the most appearences?

How about we vote for Player of the season, let the player who is doing well know that they are ahead in the poles with just short of enough votes to definitely win, then at the very last moment everyone change their votes and mass vote for a player at this weeks opponents and let the opposition player win.

Let the players know what it feels like to support us every week

Doucoure by a country mile for me.

7 goals from midfield is the best return from a central midfielder outside the top 6 (discounting Milivojevic's ridiculous amount of penalties, which will likely increase this weekend)

11th best passer in the league, including 2 assists.

There is literally no other player it could be. Take away his indifferent form in the last 3 months, he's been head and shoulders above the rest of the side

Richarlison has appeared in every match - 30 starts and 4 from the bench.

Doucoure has started the most with 33. The only one he missed was his ban for 5 yellows. He also has the most minutes on the pitch by a long chalk - the equivalent of 4 whole matches more than Richarlison in 2nd.

The next highest starters are Kabasele and Gomes on 23!

Absolute state of this. People arguing other peoples choice for POTS. You get your own vote, surely thats the whole point? If you don't agree with who someone has voted for, use your vote for someone else...it's not hard.

If someone wants to vote for Chalobah and has their reasons, so what?
Same goes for Zeegelaar, Bachmann, Amrabat, etc etc. Actually, not Zeegelaar. He's dreadful.

Thanks mate, then I suppose Doucoure deserves POTS then on two counts, even though his form has slumped of late. Having said that, had Kabasele not had his injury problems he would proably have run him close in my book, same goes for Cleverly.

Yes your points are all totally valid. You’re more right than me on this topic. And youre one of my favourite posters here. Which is what made me sad to be called ludicrous by you.

If I was being more serious, I would have said Doucoure too, as he’s been very impressive, albeit with a slight tail-off of late.

The point that I was trying to make was that Chalobah is about our only player who has not had a bad game this season, although obviously the sample figure is too small. Even Deulofeu wasn’t great against Everton, trying to do too much just by himself, and was hooked.

Chalobah’s injury and Everton’s approach for Silva were in my opinion the two most significant points of our season where things turned for the worse.

Well he will probably be one of the top 3-5....after all "Maps" is one of us so to speak meaning he is popular anyway and played ok for a majority of the season I think.

Plus has actually been fit and ready for action for most of the season unlike so many others.

Afterall had this been taken at Christmas Richarlison would probably be a 2nd choice...now?

Who has done more than him, more consistently this season? Without him we'd be in the relegation places

Yes I do agree. Sorry I was just being flippant. There would be no debate if the season ended a couple of months ago. He's probably still the favourite now though Kiko has also been consistently good across the season when fit.

Doucoure comfortably and I'll be feeling a little low when we sell him. I'm praying we keep him one more season. If we could just have him, Chalobah, Hughes and Cleverly fit and available all season it would be a thing of beauty. I'd argue a mix of any 3 of them competes against pretty much every single Prem teams midfield.

And Janmaat V Chelsea. Messi style goal.

As ego’s go in that squad, I’d say that Rich’s is far from being one of the biggest. On the contrary, short of saying through the Brazilian press that he’d like to play for a bigger club (which is fair), he’s done a pretty decent job of keeping quiet and not sulking given his form and being dropped.

Player for me is Hughes. Yes Doucoure has had an outstanding season and is rightly praised for it, and although Hughes has had minimal pitch tine compared to the others it’s his work ethic.

He really wants to play for the shirt and I remember listening to his interview after we beat Wet Spam where is sounded glad to be back.

Goal of the season is Deeney vs Everton as it’s probably one of his best and how many does he score from open play anymore?
