Give over. Id say keep him even if relegated. He is working with one hand tied behind his back. We were relegated before he arrived

Absolutely pointless to get rid. It's not his fault that professional players at his disposal can't pass the ball properly. It's frustrating to see a few of them don't have the bottle though. Surely he's seen that though and does something about it.

We've had a soft underbelly for years but coupled with enough players who were prepared to graft. We've now gone full tilt with soft players who aren't as good as they think they are and many laud them to be. You can have any manager in the world - the squad simply isn't good enough.

I'd say keep Pearson and start afresh next season.

He is a proven Championship winner - who else would we get who is better ?

I would sack him for his own sake. He seems a nice guy. Doesn't deserve to have to work with whatever dross the Pozzos and Grimaldi assemble in the summer.

It's not up to what we think. Gino will pull the trigger if we lose the next two.

I disagree. Next up is Liverpool at home which, given their form this season, is as close to a write off as you can get, and I cant see what the changing managers again will achieve. If we get to a stage that Pearson needs sacking we'll already be down, and any change then would be futile.

I'm not saying this is what I want to happen, but what I think the club would do. Lose the next two and we are really running out of hope. The only possible upturn could be a new coach. This is what they do. New manager bounce could do the trick. I certainly wouldn't put it past them to think a new manager bounce would get the 5 wins required.

I’d much rather lose Pozzo and Giraldi than Pearson. Pearson isn’t responsible for us still having such woeful defensive options post transfer window. Pozzo sacking him would be utterly laughable.

I actually find this fascinating; I had assumed you might be joking at first. I'm not saying I disagree with your analysis at all really, but in my head at least the default position was that it was not in the realms of possibility for Pearson to go before the summer whatever happens.

I suppose you do really have to look at past record and say that the Pozzos have no qualms about being considered a basket case or manager-eaters whatsoever, so they might well be just as open to the possibility of doing what they did to Quique to Big Nige. It is, after all, a bit shockingly stark how bad our results have been since that initial burst.

There's no way that Nige is the overarching problem, we all know that, but it doesn't necessarily mean that he is the solution either (if there even is one). I'm obviously not calling for him to go at all, but I am calling for us to win every game we have left please, starting with a glorious destruction of Liverpool's assumed unbeaten season.

I think the thing with Pearson is that other than a few questions about subs he’s made, generally speaking, the team selections he’s made have been sensible and made sense from the outside.

He’s been let down by some horrendous errors committed by players who are below the standard required. The blame for that lays with the recruitment team, and it’s hard to pinpoint too many areas where you can say he got it wrong and cost us. Equally, the players seem to be playing for him and giving the effort required.

I’d be happy with Pearson staying on, whatever happens between now and the end of the season. I’m less believing that we’ll provide him with the players required to make next season a success, whichever league we find ourselves in.

What always causes the firing of coaches is the apparent freefall in nature with results combined with abject performances. Since and including Villa, there has been a marked downturn in performance and results have followed of course. Defensively we're now as bad as any time under Gracia and we look sterile up front.

I think a largish defeat to Liverpool followed by another fumbling loss to Palace will see him off, and if not, certainly under severe pressure.

We need 5 more wins and the owner will do anything he can in order to get them.

Sort of. In 2008/09 the English Mike Ashley went through Kevin Keegan, Joe Kinnear, Chris Hughton and Alan Shearer.

Keegan resigned. Kinnear tried to fake his own death. And Hughton was a long-term stand in more than a proper appointment.

Except in improving the problem areas of the squad over the last couple of season obviously. Bit late for a panic sacking in response to something several seasons in the making.

It's clearly the managers' fault. The Board have lovingly assembled a squad capable of meeting their objective of being "best of the rest". It's hardly their fault that we are 19th rather than 7th.

I would love to know what convos Pearson had with the higher ups before the transfer window opened about what players he needed.

He very much toed the company line publicly during the window. Banging on about not wanting too many players and how Gray was a major part of his plans.

Just happy to be working I guess.

Pearson: I'd like to sign these players, here are my first, second and third choices for positions I think we need to urgently improve.
Pozzo: No. How about Pussetto? Yeah, Pussetto, no? Too late, he'll there Monday first thing. Sorry, no signal, bye x
