Single handedly kept us in the championship in the "Great escape at Oxford" season. Great player.

They currently have about six senior pro’s may need to get his boots on again!

Yes incredibly tough assignment. Nailed on for immediate relegation, assuming they survive financially which isn't a given.

People scatter the word ‘great’ around far too liberally. Wilkinson was a reliable goalscorer at second tier level and did well in his three seasons with us, but he was not a ‘great player’.

Not great like a Pele or a Maradona, clearly, but he was our best player for a few seasons and kept us in that league having originally joined with the remit to take us back up. A great player for us in my book.

If there is disagreement as to what adjective to use for one of our players, use one that always stands the test of time.

    Legend!

Is that somewhere between 'top player' and 'top, top player'?

I'd have said "top, top great legend" personally.
