Any close family we could 'borrow' until he makes his decision. I know there is closer media attention these days but if it ain't broke don't fix it. Sleeping bags in the sensory room again.
Considering the excuse for him being **** when he was here was that he was still growing, he must be about 9 foot when we get him back.
Have to ship him back in Zoo crate. Still won't get on the end of a Holebas cross though, on his 8th contact extension and his new fashion range for the older gentlemen, still very low crotch but much higher waistline.
Adam Leventhal on twitter: Following great @abdoudoucoure16 #WatfordFC news understand priority now is nailing down necessary paperwork for @Adalbertopr7 to take place in squad & sign defensive midfielder. Not sure Alcacer is goer & might we be ready for Deeney/Gray partnership to start the season up top.
Ffs. I hope Adam’s wrong. The only reason to go for more CDMs is if Chalobah/Cleverley/Doucoure are all out for a while. Plus if we start the season relying on Gray and Deeney we’re bloody stupid.
Another season of Deeney and Gray would be painful to watch. Really hoping Leventhal's wrong on this. Alcacer would be the perfect player to bring in
No mention of strengthening the centre of defence either. Well that optimism didn't last long, eh? Actually not too worried about signing another centre back but I'd be surprised if a forward doesn't arrive alongside a defensive midfielder.
If he is correct that are looking to play two up top next season, then we would certainly be in for another forward, unless Okaka can’t be shifted. The squad would need at least four.
He speculates it, but it would be strange given that we've only played 1 up top in all our friendlies. It would also be strange as it would mean Troy starting ahead of one of our many, more talented midfielders.
If Britos and Marriappa have a significant chance of regular first team action we’ve neglected fixing an area which should be easiest and cheapest to upgrade. Makes no sense whatsoever that we haven’t improved our centre backs.
Yes, I meant for Alcacer, but we haven’t gone all out for a CB. I still think we’ll get one, but don’t worry, we still have Britos and Kaboul!
True - we'll be up sh*t creek if/when Britos heads off to Torino and Marriappa to Glasgow Rangers as rumoured.
There goes the optimism I've held all window. Surely we must sign a striker... Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk
This was, to me, the most significant and encouraging thing I took from the tweet. A dedicated use of two upfront within our strategy. Play Deeney in a two up top and we have a chance of seeing the best of him again. Even better if there is a Gray upgrade, even it is the lad himself stepping up.
Not signing a striker or a centre back and persisting with the (mainly) subpar players we have in those positions really would be incredibly negligent. Britos - old and crap. Prodl - decent on his day but poor all last season and getting slower and slower. Cathcart - decent but unreliable in terms of staying fit. Kaboul - embarrassment. Mariappa - not a genuine Premier League centre back. Wilmot - kid that's only played three divisions below the Premier League. Gray/Deeney/Okaka/Success - don't score goals. Would be absolutely ridiculous not to strengthen in these areas.
Maybe the club sees Penaranda as the third striker option? Even though he's not scored a professional club goal in over 2 years...
Looks surprisingly good with his head for a little fella. I like this type of small nippy striker. Looks to have a cool head in front of goal too. I'd be very happy if this one comes off.
I didnt think we'd sign Delofeu and i also dont think we'll sign someone else from Barcelona. Whatever next.
You are right to ask the questions. But your argument at times gets lost in your anger, and all you appear to be is some self hating **** with insecurity issues. You make it almost impossible to respond to you without wanting to piss on your parade. Take a chill pill man, then say it again like you actually give a damn about the club, rather than just your own feelings.
Leventhal’s tweet to me reads more like (between the lines): ‘Doucoure signing is great news. Penaranda has shown talent in training and the board are desperately trying to knock down Sajid Javid’s door to get paperwork done that frankly should have been done months ago. Nobody has told me anything about the Alcacér deal but I only get told about deals that are near or 95% certain - and sometimes the club don’t tell me anything (hence why I didn’t tweet insider info about Doucoure’s new contract). If no Alcacér deal, I don’t know about any other strikers coming in. So...Gray/Deeney partnership anyone?’
Agreed. And I am very glad someone else is making it. I just don't see the point, from Troy's view or the Club's, in him staying here unless there is some sort of commiment to two up top, whether it is a fixed or flexible strategy. He cannot do it on his own.
What a weird post. Not sure where in my post I seem "lost in anger"? Hardly reads as an aggressive rant, but hey ho. Also, considering you are the one trying to carry out some sort of bizarre psychoanalysis on me based on some of my posts on an internet football forum, I think it may be you that has a few issues. Embarrassing.
You may well be right. But if you don't think your posts communicate anger, you probably need a shag.
