Out Of Love With This Club

I've tried to be positive lately, I've tried to not overreact, but honestly, f**k this club.

I am sure I will be told about how much worse it was X years ago under X ownership etc. etc. as is the norm, but in the here and now this club is a f**king disgrace and I am losing my passion for it entirely. It's not just a simple as "we're in the Premier League, be grateful" (we won't be in 10 days time).

We have an utterly detestable, spineless, gutless team which not only lacks in balance and talent through our laughable recruitment, but also completely lacks heart, fight and character and thus is void of any reason to feel connected to them. I hope the players do read this forum, because I would like to directly tell the vast majority of them to go and f**k themselves and to please piss off in the summer (and there are literally only a couple who aren't included in that) . I'd rather play the entire under 18's.

Pozzo took as us far as he was ever going to the year we came up. Our recruitment is embarrassing, we have no clear identity or direction as a club both on the pitch and off it, we bounce from one random, clueless manager to the next, we seemingly have absolutely no youth system and we have assembled said team above of thoroughly worthless, old c**ts.

In my 20 years of support I have officially never felt so disconnected from the club and the team. In other dark times there have still been positives, right now I can't find any. I hope we do go down and I'm certain we will, because it's what Pozzo, Giraldi and the playing staff deserve.

Oh, Pearson can f**k off too. There's a reason no one was touching him with a 10 foot barge pole. Fits perfectly with the players and the running of the club. Crap.

What were the positives last time we got relegated?

 

We used to give youth a chance at least and had a bit of heart about us. We were utterly sh*t, but we at least always had that. Now we have nothing. Just a team of detestable, old, mercenary c*nts who couldn't give a crap and who I thoroughly despise almost every single one of.

The entire club needs an overhaul from top to bottom. Most of these players need to be cleared out in the summer. We need an actual youth policy and route for younger players into the first team. Without relegation my fear is that we limp into next season with the same useless charlatans and mecanary nobodies and expect something different. The Pozzos need a hard kick in the balls.

 

That's the worst thing about all of this. I have never felt so unpassionate about Watford in all my life. I genuinely don't care that we lost tonight, I don't feel any emotion when we score. There is nothing worth supporting about this squad.

 

Anyone think we might have sold him too soon?

 

We've all complained loudly for several seasons that our defence isn't good enough and Deeney isn't good enough and **** all was done about it. The club gets what it deserves.

It's now going to take several years to rebuild in the championship.

 

If we're lucky. Could easily see us spiralling out of control in the Championship as so many others have. The inevitable Dawson and Mariappa CB pairing with Deeney and Gray up front is going to be sickening.

No we haven't. To suggest that majority of Watford fans have been saying this is not true.

This isn't aimed at you, as I simply can't recall, but there will be a lot of rewriting of history after we go down.

We had would class recruitment Nathan Ellington being the peak Pozzo only dreams of scaling. We had a plan for the stadium - bringing our supporters closer to home with a stunning decision to build flats behind the Rookery and Vicarage Road/Rous stand corner. We did so well Laurence Bassini was able to front the salad boys buying the club.

Relegation makes things worse - not better.

 

Even with the probable relegation coming up (with a squad of crocks totally unsuited the Champo) I have a lot of respect for how Gino Pozzo has owned the club and developed the stadium. But lately his total silence in public or to reporters has been playing on my mind and I'm coming to the conclusion that his stance comes across really weak and cowardly. Everything has always been done through Dux who has, in my opinion, come across as open, professional and sensible. But Dux is paid several hundred thousand a year - is he really going to tell Pozzo anything he doesn't want to hear? This can't be a healthy way to run an organisation can it?

 

It's something a lot of people had picked up on and mentioned, but cool.

Honestly, a cult.

 

From 2008 onwards, the Premier League was a distant memory and we quickly slipped back to being an average Championship club, but it was OK, the club was getting by on the pitch despite all the off-pitch issues, and we had conveyor belt of half-decent youngsters. The start of the Pozzo years were brilliant, we played some exhilarating football and ended up back in the big time when it was so unlikely just a few years previously. We've even had our moments in the Premier League years, but since missing out on Europe and the FA Cup, what now? There's no kicking on from that, all we have to look forward to in the Prem is more treading water and maybe a Cup run. Even if we go down, what is there to look forward to? OK, we'll be more competitive, but best case scenario is we get back into the Prem and struggle, worst case scenario we're lumbered with a lot of the useless ****ers in the squad now and end up like Stoke, Huddersfield or Middlesbrough. Bleak times ahead...

 

Communication since Pozzo bought the club has been utterly shambolic.

That’s the depressing conclusion of football unless a rich Arab takes over.

Every time I read something like this my heart sinks a little bit because ultimately you know you’re living for a Europa League run or a FA Cup win at best as the final goal.

In between all that, there’s the brilliant goals, the crazy 90th minute winners, enjoying excellent young talent like Sarr & Richarlison for a season or two and the cup runs but really we have to make peace with what we are and enjoy the journey because when you think about it, the detonation 90% of the time is temporary.

Quite. There has been a small minority of people fuming at Pozzo/Giraldi for 3 seasons and they have taken heavy fire from a huge number of idiots. If history is rewritten here then I will honestly give up.

 

We have so many tools in our fanbase.
