Yeah I agree. The first time I've seen Silva get bad press was after he joined us. It's bizarre.

 

Most managers do this to some degree. They all have their favourites, and when changing clubs it's easy for a manager to want to take players he knows he can trust. I do wonder if this would have even been an issue if it were any other club.

 

To be fair the runners up spot in 83 is higher than Dildo Brothers FC have ever managed.

 

Not when you consider the journalist. This is the same guy who believes that the 'big clubs' in the Championship like Leeds, QPR and Forest should be allowed to spend whatever they like without question. Be owned by whoever they like, without question and be exempt from relegation from the Premier League because they were once big clubs and had big fanbases.

Yet, our loan policy was all that was wrong with English football.

 

When have QPR ever been a BIG club?

 

Well they had "El Tel " as their manager who went on to coach Barcelona so they must have been good because Jeff Powell said so. And El Tel was a much more successful England manager than GT because he oversaw a semi final defeat on home soil in his one tournament in charge and never had to play a single qualifying game, or indeed any match at all outside the home comforts of Wembley. Also you must overlook the fact that his best striker was just about hitting his peak unlike GT's who was about to head to the J. league, and he had a fit and motivated Paul Gascoigne to pull the strings (the performances against Switzerland, half the Scotland game and 120 minutes against Spain have also had the George Orwell 1984 technique daubed all over them).

So to sum up - they're a big club because they once had a manager the press loved unlike us who are everything that's wrong with football blah blah blah blah......

No, I can't do it. They're crap and insignificant and always have been.

The British sports media is a bit rubbish generally speaking, but it always has been for as long as I can remember. I doubt it's going to improve any time soon, especially in the new clickbait age where they'll print almost anything that gets a few extra clicks
