There is no reason why GKs can't play until they are 38 - 40. Very much depends on fitness. The top clubs have been buying younger GK talent like Pickford for big money but most clubs cannot do that and need experience as much as ability. Gomes is a top GK who is rather underappreciated except at WFC. I understand that Karnezis is a very good international keeper. If he hangs around for 2 - 4 years providing quality cover that is OK with me. Never been made clear to me why Pants is not well regarded but he needs to go elsewhere in a WC year. Arlauskis should also move on and I am happy with Bachman as our HG number 3 keeper.

He has his faults but we love him ....but you are probably right it could be time to replace him.
He could go on to have a great season but I have the feeling this maybe the season he falls away , so let's get his replacement waiting in the wings .
