Karnezis' agent saying it won't happen. Udinese do have a several decent keepers though. If we can't get Karnezis, I think we may go in for Simone Scuffet or Alex Meret. No point in Udinese having 3 excellent keepers on their books at the same time.

 

We should be trying to sign Pickford, not this guy.

 

I think this is the more likely option, as they'll be U21 they won't take up a non-HG place next year giving us more manoeuvrability

 

As a big fan of Homer and seeing as we already have Troy, I'm hoping this happens.

Hopefully we can then pursue Hector from Arsenal and keep our eyes peeled for Agamemnon, Clytemnestra and Fred Menelaus.

Gomes, apart from a mid season dip where he cost us some points, has been superb.

He ll have to be very good to take number 1 spot.

 

My thoughts exactly. Not sure why the focus seems to be on a new keeper. In my view it's the position I'm least concerned about

 

Believe me, Karnezis IS very good. Strangely, not so much hype around him, but he's extremely solid and reliable and well capable of the occasional miracle.
The only problem is that he's "blocking the way" to the further development of other excellent young GKs.
One between Scuffet or Meret is going to be Udinese's #1 next season (with Perisan as #2) and the other one going on loan in serie A.

 

According to Di Marzio of Sky Italia there is a hold up on the transfer of Karnezis to Napoli because they only want a loan whereas Udinese want it to be permanent. He also goes on to say that Karnezis will be their no.2. Surely we can offer him a better deal than that.

He also mentions Strinic in his article and claims that it is between us and Galatasaray.

I agree with Sherlock - this guy is really good. Think his clean handling would suit the EPL. Would be a sensible low risk option and support/ successor to Gomes and hope he comes to us if Napoli can't stump up the money. COYHS

Excellent goalkeeper. Was very assured in the games I saw him play for Granada. Took that form with him to Udinese. Would be very happy if ended up here. Then again I wouldn't be unhappy with Gomes as number one.

 

Good competition for Pickford

Pickford has barely played since signing for Everton . We should look at getting him on loan with a view to a permanent .

It ll give him chance to get some game time and if he s no good we can just loan to Real Valladolid via Udinese .

 

The Pozzo's won't even try to sign Pickford. £30m is nothing in this day and age.
