Didn't really rate him much at Celtic. Was one of those that clearly has natural ability but for some reason wasn't consistent enough. To be fair it was difficult for Ntcham at Marseille because Villas-Boas was in a dispute over transfers and kicked off with the owner about the signing not being his choice.
His transfer was bonkers though. Villas Boas was so against him being signed that he actually resigned over it.
Well, the owners and Villas-Boas had been in dispute over transfers and other stuff going on at the club and this was the icing on the cake he criticised the transfer policy in the media as he wanted more control and so the bored sacked him.
I’m pretty sure our managers find out about all our signings through the media, safe to say AVB will never be our manager then!
I assume there was a lot more background to this - but how **** must that have been for Ntcham? Having that as your first day at the club has got to tank your confidence so hardly surprising he didn't flourish at Marseille.
Yea, if a Watford manager resigned every time he was presented with a player he didn't ask for, we'd get though a heck of a lot more managers than we already do. In this case though, "Precisely a player the I had said NO to" was the reason AVB resigned, which is slightly different. He'd already told the club he absolutely did not want Ntcham, but they want ahead & got him anyway.
