Nisman loved his model trains, he had set up a hyper realistic model of the village complete with mini figurines of the villagers. His pride and joy though was the Flying Scotsman replica that he had secured a few weeks ago. He was busy electrifying the tracks in his utility room/station office when he heard three large bangs on the front door. Puzzled at who would be troubling him at this hour we crept over to the front door and peered through the looking glass.

    No one was there.

"Hello, who's there? Why have you come to s-s-see m-m-me?" He stuttered.

    No response came.

Shaken, he returned to the train set trying to put the strange occurrence to the back of his mind. As he neared the door he noticed there was a large ominous shadow within. He gasped audibly before quickly covering his mouth trying to catch the sound escaping his lips. It was too late. The figure leapt forward knocking over the table sending Nisman's beloved set flying through the air and down the hall.

Shielding himself from the flying objects, Nisman turned to run but slipped on the train that was careening down the hall way. Landing on his back, pinned down by the creature he was trying evade Nisman let out a blood curdling scream that echoed through the night as the wolf sunk it's teeth into him.

    Nisman was very good.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++±+++++++

On the other side of the village, Mike was walking through the woods when he noticed a rustling in the bushes straight ahead from him. He stopped dead in his tracks and shone his light at them but could see nothing. He carried on walking quickening his pace glancing at the shadows in the hope of seeing something.

The sound of a stick breaking behind him caused him to break into a run in blind panic. He glanced over his shoulder but couldn't see his pursuer.

THWACK. Mike was knocked back as he had run into something and stumbled to the floor. Shining his torch up he saw before him a hulking wolf. Immediately the wolf plunged his claws into Mike's chest and ripped out his still beating heart. The last thing Mike saw was the wolf devouring his heart.

    Mike was good.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++

The guardian sat outside Cthulhu's house and was only disturbed throughout the night by a rather large badger going through the bins.

    Day two has started.

All votes are final and the village will be shutting at 6pm.

Damn! So we’ve just lost our Seer or our Guardian?

    RIP Nisman & Mike

Seems we have just two wolves in the village.

So there are two wolves and we just potentially lost our seer. If guardian, it's bad, but not quite as bad. That means with 2 wolves and a traitor, we really need to get lucky this morning.

Is there anything Nisman might have said which gave away his role? Can't see it myself. Maybe just a lucky kill for the wolf.

There's very, very little to go on. Two messages, both naming people as good. A day's play where most of us were just making idle chat, with little to go on.

Well that's a bit of a stinker of a start to things!

Given we obviously don't know how many of each role are in the game, and that Dom was willing to give Mike an extra life for his non-vote, it looks like we have two wolves knocking around, and have potentially lost the Seer or the Guardian.

It's going to be uphill from here!

Oh, of course Nisman is the seer the last paragraph says our Guardian is still alive. Doh!

I had a feeling the seer was nisman. Damn it

Nisman couldn't have been the Guardian based on the last line.

Are the Seer and Guardian really the only two possible roles which can count as "very good"?

The first post was the seer I think. The second grime one was the wolf. We need to go after the youngsters in my opinion

If it was the seer, I assume there will be a backup, you never get a backup guardian as far as I remember from past games.

Very good is usually seer or guardian.
It’s a small game so unlikely to be lots of roles

And we have two wolves but they don’t know each other

I always speed read the morning message and miss all the nuance as I try to get the nitty gritty.

One has to hope there's a back up seer or we are flailing in the dark. If we don't get a good seer message, then the wolves/traitor just have to sit back and they're 90% sure of winning. Maybe more.

Seems The Guardian was with most of what you said last night if he protected you. Who did you focus on yesterday?

The messages today should be interesting... If anyone else has spotted something then it would be wise to hold on to that information until after the messages.

I think for the enjoyment of the game Dom will employ the back up seer, if it’s someone mention in yesterday’s messages that will be extra hilarious.

I jumped the gun with my post there too! I guess we're just left waiting to see whether or not there is a Back-up Seer then.

Otherwise we're effectively toast, and have nothing overly useful to glean from either of yesterday's messages.

Morning all. RIP Nisman and miked - 2 bad losses for team good; one player who had a role and the other who is generally a very good and active player for team good. I don’t think the last line necessarily means nisman couldn’t have been the Guardian - they can guard and then be killed when they get back home. However, there is sometimes a clue that that has happened. I think, in all probability, Nisman was the Seer. This early in the game, I would expect us to have a back up.

Assuming he was the Seer, we need to see if Nisman gave any clues as to which message was his. Unless we have a really savvy wolf, I doubt they guessed he was a seer but were probably reasonably sure he was good - when I’ve been a wolf, at the beginning of the game I was just trying to make sure I killed a good player and not a fellow evil, so would avoid anyone whose allegiance I was less sure of.

Re the Guardian’s choice - remember, they know no more than the rest of us; don’t get too sidelined by their choices. Cthulhu may have been on the right track re the grime stuff but may not - nothing is proven just because the Guardian protected him.

Not a great start for us but at least the wolves don’t know each other.

The Guardian as you say doesn't know player roles so we shouldn't read anything into who they protect.

Ok. I’ve had a quick look at yesterday’s posts. Nothing much of note was said but Nisman did post this:

“As for the second message, why would you say your viewing yields nothing new before saying someone is good? Gotta love the end statement though.

Also with the first message, is there anything to this sailor/child thing as it's clearly a rip-off from the nursery rhyme?”

I may be seeing things which aren’t there, but does anyone else think this bit in bold is dissing that second message? And was he trying to steer us to clues for future messages with the nursery rhyme comment? In which case message 1 would have been nisman’s and moog would be good

  21. Morning all. Just catching up. Terrible night for team good! Any sus?

there is nothing to the sailor child thing, I think it is Nisman, and as seer he doesn't know anymore than us.
If its the wolf again he doesn't know any more than us

But as you point out Nisman was the seer and questioned the second post. That points I think to the second post being the wolf and the wolf having awareness of grime

  23. HappyHornet24

? As a Seer he definitely knows more than us - he knows which is his message! And he will have been trying to steer us to the right message without giving himself away.

A little strange you're posting clues about the messages whilst we haven't got any today.

There is a clue out there that tells us with about 99% certainty which message is which but it only helps the wolf if we point it out.

This is exactly why I said we shouldn't speculate which message is which until we get our message(s) for today.

Any game on day 1 two messages naming good with different styles is near impossible to tell apart. All we know for sure is that either Moog or Burnsy is good, nothing more.

  27. wfcSinatra

    wfcSinatra Predictor Choker 14/15

I think whichever message was from Nisman, whatever the clue was, would be clearer the more messages he sent, I doubt he would've made it too obvious as he would not be expecting to die on day 1.

Hopefully if we do have a back-up seer they don't take all day to post a message.

I've to briefly go stand outside a funeral later so will be offline from 1-2.30ish and then driving to Enniskillen after that so probably need to vote before 4ish.

Morning all! RIP to our departed friends...

I've had a look over yesterday's thread and think I've noticed something that wasn't discussed (could be something, could be nothing)...it seems like a hint of some description but I haven't figured out what to. I'll bite my tongue however until todays messages are received!

Possibly the same thing I've noticed. Best to keep it to yourself until we get the messages.

Does our backup seer have anything to gain from waiting?

  32. AshdonWFC

I wouldn't have thought so. Certainly less than the Alpha would gain.

Unless we don't have a back-up seer, in which case we can probably say goodbye to any further messages at all.

I'd say it is certain we have a back-up seer. If we didn't, the game would effectively be over.

I was trying to work out which message might have been from Nisman yesterday. I didn’t think it much mattered pointing out any clues Nisman might have left as, with him dying so early in the game, they are irrelevant to the future of the game and don’t put anyone at risk as he is already dead.
