Highly unlikely we will score. We are averaging about 1 goal every other game. We scored in our last game, so the law of averages says that we will not score on Friday.
The law of averages could also say that we are due a win and maybe even a hat-full of goals, this is the law of averages I would prefer to come to pass on Friday
If we do grind out a 0-0 and people rightly point out it isn’t sufficient I think I can see the “entitled” comments coming from other posters! We really need to win this and hope nobody is going to defend Flores if he parks the bus.
I recall in one of her books,Delia taught people how to boil an egg. Might come in handy on Friday night.
We quite simply have to win. We’re better than we’re showing, it’s got to be a confidence thing. All we need is a scrappy goal in off someone’s a*se and we could be away. If that header from Foster had gone in, that would’ve been the momentum shifter we needed. It’s got to happen soon. Surely? The saddest thing is I’m probably clutching at straws. We’re talking about the same namby pamby ****’s who disgraced us at Wembley.
I'm on the fence with QSF at the moment and I can see what he is trying to do but we need to press them. On Saturday against Chelsea we sat off them for 25 minutes and let them do what they wanted. I hope the idea to press came from QSF and not just the players as it made a big difference. Yes Chelsea had chances but they are a decent team but least we put them under pressure. If we just sit back at Norwich in a game we desperately need to win then I give up on QSF. We can still keep a good defensive shape if we press, it's just about a way of doing both
I can't say I am enjoying the football played so far this season but unlike other seasons every game means something and that brings emotion and passion from us fans. Once we get a head of steam up it may well bring the biggest highs we have had in the premier on this run.
The new When Saturday Comes has a splendid write-up of Muff 0 Norwich 0. You'll enjoy reading how bad Norwich were; and even more how Muff were worse. "Today it's 2009 again, and this may well be a League Two relegation clash .... I've seen worse games, but not at a level where players have names on the backs of their shirts."
Interestingly enough, an anagram of Quique Sanchez Flores is LOSER FANS CHEQUE QUIZ, which I think you'll all agree makes no sense whatsoever.
I keep swaying between keep him and sack him. Before every game I hope it's the game that changes everything and we have a proper go at a team. Then after every game I think this football can't continue and it'll take us down!
Beat me to it, I was trying to find something amusing around "qsf no clue" but couldn't fit the z & remaining letters into it so gave up, much like our players.
I can safely say at the moment I enjoyed those seasons more so than this by a long way (even though they were depressing in their own right). Back then I thought it would be one of the new wonders of the world if we stayed up, in particular 99/00. This season is (so far) soul destroying because I thought we were getting towards being an established top flight club.
I would suggest you, and we all, identified much more closely with the players in '99 and, to a lesser extent in '06. Now we're more cynical and suspicious about their attitude.
I know we have a terrible manager. I know we can barely score. But we're playing the worst side in the league, who are still suffering from a small, injury struck squad and are on even worse form than us. I can see us winning this one in a dull 0-1 and papering over the horrific, season-destroying cracks.
At this stage I will be happy to stand and watch a dull game if we come away with 3 points. Lets get some points first, attractive wins can come later.
Deulofeu has got his first goal this season, he will score on Friday. Unless QSF uses him as a target man. Again.
In a way it would be somewhat disappointing. Like, yeah, fine, if it sparks a renaissance and we go on a run, but we all know that won't happen. It would at least preserve some sort of purity, if we go on and fail to win. If we can do that all season, it would at least make history, which would be far more memorable than just collapsing to relegation with 19 points, 3 wins and a few draws.
I'd suggest that "we all know that" implies that you think you do rather more than that. A favourite phrase of hb1's too. Gets me wondering ...
I think you're reading a lot more into my posts than you should. I'm spread quite thin across all these accounts.
