It's football and money talks, so if a club offers x amount then of course one of our top players could go. But - all the talk is pointing to none of our main players going anywhere. Javi mentioned how it's going to help not losing anyone and having the same players to work with. No-one appears to be pushing for move, interviews point to a happy and settled squad. I'm fairly confident we're going to keep those we want and hopefully another 1 or 2 decent signings, plus potential players coming in from their loans.....could be a very good season. Only my take on things so have classified as 'RUBBISH'
Had an inkling this would be the case - nobody that could afford what we'd ask for Doucoure (probably a minimum of £40m) are in that much of a need for a player like him (unless Tottenham failed with their pursuit of Ndombele, but I can't see Levy paying what we'd ask for him). Deulofeu whilst having a brilliant season was still pretty inconsistent and bar maybe someone like West Ham - there's not that many "bigger" clubs that need strikers, and he likely wouldn't improve the team that much either. The only move that I wouldn't surprise me would be Pereyra, there's been rumours for a couple of seasons that we'll cash in and he only has 2 years left on his deal which means the Pozzos know they need to sell now or risk losing him for very little next summer and I think we'd accept 20m for him which is certainly reasonable for a lot of clubs.
I think they (Del, Doucoure and Pereyra) will all stay. The players we want to offload are unlikely to be clubs first choice summer options. I wouldn’t bet against most of them leaving late in the window when clubs get down to their 3rd/4th choice options and want numbers through the door. One caveat is Leventhal’s tweet this morning - likely means nothing but why tweet a ‘Transfer Update’ regarding selling Doucoure for ‘£60m-£70m’ totally unprompted and then add a little part at the end about that kind of deal giving us funds? Something in the pipeline? Subconsciously letting people know he’s available for that kind of money? Indications to fans that we need to sell before we can buy big?
According to the Official site, Deeney was ill with a bug and lost 4kg. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/austria-diary-day-five
Not to worry. A few good helpings of Austrian strudel and custard will soon have the big lad rippling again.
What a lazy bugger, can't even be bothered to lose the weight through exercise like the rest of the lads.
If we keep all the players we have plus Chalobah, Quina (effectively new players), Dawson and an additional forward option (Sarr), we will be safe by Xmas, and the players can get their flip flops on early
When I started following them it was bunk beds in the Breacon Beacons, now it's five star at La Manga!
Speaking of big - you wouldn't mind if Success or Okaka left... Neither make the most of their big build!
If it all grows back on to the end of his right foot then maybe he might be able to reach the end of a cross for once the lethargic g*t.
With Gueye looking likely to leave Everton for PSG, wouldn't be surprised if douchebag comes crawling back for Doucoure
That top photo is Javi telling the lads of Deeneys plight. They all look concerned.. apart for Holebas back right who just smirks.
I once snapped my banjo string . Perhaps we should consider forming a WFC Salvation Army Brass band .
