I'm sure some of you have seen, but it's becoming more widely reported now that PSG have met the release clause in Neymar's contract and Neymar has reportedly told the club that he wants to leave for PSG.

Whether it actually happens or not is unknown but it's pretty mental if it does.

    The rumoured details:

Barca don't want him to leave so PSG have met the release clause of €222m (£196m). To tempt him to PSG they're offering him a signing on fee of £45m, along with £596,000 a week AFTER tax. Ridiculous.

    And closing in on Sanchez

I put a double on PSG to win Champions League and Milan to win Europa League last week

PSG will become the Celtic of France. Except they will actually do well in Europe.

Doesn't FFP exist in European competition as well? If these figures are remotely true then the only way that PSG would remain on the right side of the rules would be if the Eiffel Tower was moved to Spain.

I was listening to an interesting piece on the radio the other day, where the guy was saying that that Neymar will never been truly content until he is the main man as his club. This will never happen whistl Messi is still at Barca, and with Suarez too, it won't be easy for Neymar to be the main star of the team any time soon.

Also, it's seen as the pinnacle of a footballer's career for him to win the Ballon d'or. Neymar will never win it if he's not the biggest star at the club.

These two reasons together mean that a move for Neymar to another club is quite feasible.

i think this is it in a nutshell. Messi will be ahead of anyone at Barca. Ronaldo will be ahead of anyone at Madrid.

I don't think this is bad for Barcelona either. they will spend this money VERY well. watch them bring in the top 5 prospects from brazil/argentina with this money.

Neymar arguably had a better season than Messi last season, and is one of my favourite players in the world to watch, but £196m is an absolute JOKE

Interesting to see the impact from this deal. Cortina to Barca? Lanzini to Liverpool? Martin Peters back to WHU?

You would imagine that Neymar will be much more out of the spotlight at PSG, but the salary will help the isolation.

Its still unclear why Neymar would consider leaving Barca to earn 40m+ a year.

Ridiculous, fee and wages cannot be justified at all. No one is worth that.

Saw an article suggesting it was so he could get more rest before the world cup

Because PSG won't do so well in the Champions league/easier league so they can rest him?

La Liga are trying to block the move. Absolutely pathetic but not a surprise at all that they'll throw themselves into battle for Barcelona.

Spanish league crying about ridiculous transfer fee and wages being spent by someone taking a star player from their league. Hmmm....what's the saying involving a kettle and a pot?

Madrid aren't exactly afraid to throw money around!

They will probably end up paying over the odds for Mbappe.

Madrid, in particular, have done it for years, and I'm sure they have some kind of help financially from the local authorities

It's proper silly money. It's not new news but this really highlights the way the game is going/gone. It's all about who's prepared to put the most stupid amounts of money into a club.

At what point do the fans of clubs like PSG become supporters of the nation state or corporation that owns the club as opposed to club as a representation of a community? It's all depressing.

Fair play to Neymar. As he said, if it was about the money, he could have gone lots of other places.

Well, not England as no club here would spend £200m on a player yet and certainly not 750k a week wages.

Not China as they can't do that anymore.

Not America as they can't do that at all.

Not Madrid as they couldn't afford him.

But yeah, he could have gone lots of other places. Not about the money.

Hope HB1 is ok tho x
