It's a bit like traveling back in time seeing Steve Cotterill's name mentioned.

Could see them going for someone like Carlos Carvahal.

By letting it go quiet. That’s how they will hope to get away with continuing to employ him.

As I’ve said before, we are largely toothless as a fanbase when things happen that don’t please us. We’ve had the odd boo at home games or whatever - but that’s easy. Not once has there been a unifying voice at games demanding change. And because of that, Gino knows full well he can do what he wants with minimal criticism.

Gino is Boris Johnson and Giraldi is Dominic Cummings in this case. Ride the story out - people won’t forget but they will just shrug and get bored of asking you to sack him.

I’m worried that’s the tactic at play.

Taken the Braga job so it won’t be him.

In body, not mind. As I said I need to keep up better. I believe the Stella I've consumed over the years has pickled the old grey cells.

So exactly what hold has Giraldi over Pozzo? It's astonishing how he's bumbling through without any responsibility aimed at him. Well plenty on here and rightly so. I honestly thought Cristiano Giaretta was the one coming to take the reins. Could he possibly do the job of both Roy and Giraldi?

Reckon they'll stick with their assistant manager, the sensible thing to do with a short pre-season

No idea. For all I know Giaretta could be a Giraldi Mark II.

If he hires Ivic then he can bring some Penguins with him:

Stuck some dough on Paul Cook at 9/2 on SkyBet. Gone suspended with Paddy Power & Betfair. Theirs something in that for sure.

More chance of Thomas Cook becoming our gaffer than Paul Cook

I want our next manager to follow in the same vein as the majority of the Pozzo appointments in that I can’t understand what they are saying in their post match interviews. For that reason Paul Cook is fine by me.

Paul Cook wouldn't be a bad choice, but I just don't see him as a Pozzo fit. An earthy Englishman......they hated the last one.

He has a very good win ratio, but has only managed at lower league clubs, although has done very well with these teams. For me, he has experience and knowledge of the Championship. Best of all he's free and available. I'd say he's the best candidate we've been linked with so far.

If odds meant something substantial then Chris Hughton would have been our head coach 6 times in the last month

Well, considering they've hoovered up cash based on setting Ivic, Struber and Cook as favourites over the last few days, they certainly would.

The first thing they did was sack a gritty English manager in Dyche.

Back in the Championship and looks like we could be hiring one.

    Circle of life.
