It’s a bit of a shambles if Gino is Italy securing a manager for Udinese, while his own club is a week into the six-week break and remains rudderless.

What he has achieved is phenomenal really.

Assume he will take a while before going back into management.

We’ve never had a real live saint in charge of our team. Get it done Gino. Howe for Watford.

Bonkers how these crackpot clubs just cycle through managers after hitting a blip in the road. Modern football at its worst.

I don't think that we'd be right for Howe or that he would be right for Watford to be honest.

He was the main man at Bournemouth, having a say in pretty much everything that goes on there. He's not so much the captain of the ship but the actual ship itself!

Here, he'd be nothing more than a cog in the engine room, with little say in what goes on other than tactics and training. I doubt he would leave Bournemouth to go to Watford and have Giraldi breathing down his neck.

I can’t see it happening in a million years but on a forum for expressing opinions, I just expressed mine that I’d love him to join us.

I’d love it if he came here and turned us into a club of proper *********rs, with loads of pressuring refs, diving and underhand tactics.

I bet we could find him some right nasty sorts to bring in on loan from Italy.

I think he’d be crap here, but it would generate so much hate. What a ride it would be.

People are chucking money on Howe as he's gone 16/1 to 8/1 in half an hour.

    Never happening though.

Howe has looked a broken man at Bournemouth this season, he looks like he needs a long break. I wouldn't want to appoint him as our manager currently.

Also, our defence has needed sorting now for ages and that's one area of the pitch Howe can't sort out to save his life.

After the Andre Gray debacle, probably best we avoid taking on another person who is regarded as a hero by our hated rivals

Good manager, wouldn't go anywhere near our mess of a club. Probably be back in the PL at some point next season.

Hard not to see muff dropping off further now. Unpopular opinion but i'd probably take Eddie Howe, his biggest flaw was making some terrible mistakes in the transfer window, he wouldn't have such luxuries here. I reckon he should take a year or so out of football though, he looked mentally broken towards the end of the season.

West Ham or Palace would be obvious homes for him if he doesn’t take a break first.

£35m for Ibe and Solanke - very astute.

Rumour has it that any of the players questioned him they were dropped and totally frozen out. Not very saintly.

I heard Eddie Howe was good at managing the players that had come up through the lower divisions that were just happy and grateful to be playing Premier League football and just got on with things but he struggled to manage players with more experience, apparently some of the more experienced players questioned his decisions at times and he didn't like it. I think Defoe was one of these players.

Furthermore, Bournemouths got found out ages ago and Howe didn't have a plan B. Their signings were poor as well AFCB has wasted loads of money, they had Ake at centre back but were still a wreck defensively for years. I have always thought that he was extremely overrated.

Not that it means anything, but looking at their forum not one mention of Struber.. it’s mostly Lee Johnson/Chris Hughton

Lee Johnson does seem like the obvious choice for them, clean-cut inoffensive English manager who tries to play decent football. Be interesting to see who they go for, surely they knew this was coming, but they haven't had to think about about this for a while (unlike us) so fingers crossed they don't have a clue how to move on from this
