So Mclaren has joined Newcastle so all the other teams Joka was linked with are sorted. Shame

I imagine he'll turn up in the Championship come the first round of sackings in September/October.

    Forest or QPR.

This makes it all the more odd... Jokanovi* is now on the dole (or whatever they call it in Spain) after refusing to sign.

If it was just about the money, I doubt we'll see him in England again as I can't see him getting the wages he reportedly wanted. Did he gamble on one of the other Premier League jobs and lose out? I think he wanted a big salary to make it worth moving his life to England from Spain.

If he does pop up at the likes of QPR or Forest it suggests that it was less about the money and more being at odds with the Pozzos. Then again, he might just need a wage.

i suspect Jokanovic is actually looking for work in Spain. he seems very settled there. His CV with a Watford promotion is now much improved. Unfortunately football management/coaching is a volatile business, so the highs are often followed by lows and doldrums. He clearly has leadership and man management talent, but i just wonder if a truly top coach would have let his team slip up on the final day.

I think he fell into the trap of what was being reported in the press, about him being the favourite for Sunderland job and others.

Therefore he thought he was going in on a strong stance with his alleged a big pay demand, unfortunately it seems to have all back fired on him, and he is left job hunting.

I said unfortunately, because I liked him and would have preferred him to stay; lets hope that all of this does not also back fire on WFC, and that Florrie takes us on to greater and bigger things.

Got linked with the Granada job today on Twitter, now that would be amazingly funny!

Would also make a bit of sense , he stays in spain although distance from granada to Madrid is a 6-7 hr train ride! or 1 hr flight!
Granada in need of a bit of a leg up , Gino rates Florrie over SJ(meaning florrie was better value for money in the pay discussions) ,yet keeps 2 good Headcoachs in the empire. Still all guesswork though .

It could also mean if Florrie turns out to be a flop, he would be more amenable to come and rescue WFC on his big white horse ;-)

Agree as it would suit his family better. However Joka would have to drastically reduce his wage demands!

More chance for him to show Madrid what he's made of

Do good at Granada move on to mid table team like Malaga / Sociedad maybe even Seville / do well there and Madrid will come knocking.

Says it all for me. As I predicted, the Joka breaks his silence. Just a bit earlier than anticipated. Sounds to me like he really wanted to get that off his chest (still with great dignity though), just after midnight in Israel on the day Quique's contract starts and his has been paid up a week and a bit early.

Well I have to say that if this is true, for once I am a little disappointed in "The Pozzo's" as I think it might have been handled better. Having said that, at the end of the day WFC is their club and "The Pozzo's" possibly think that Joka is not quite up to the job?

We heard that "The Pozzo's" can be ruthless about business from our friends at Udinese and Granada when "The Pozzo's" first took over WFC; therefore we should not be surprised, when they make a hard headed decision, for the good of their business which is Watford, Udinese and Granada football clubs.

Although WFC is purely an emotional thing for most of us on here, in "The Pozzo's" case we know they care about football, but they let their heads rule, not their hearts, and us fans should probably be very grateful that they do, because our beloved WFC might no longer have been in existence without them!

Well you either stand by your signature or change it.

Whatever the rights and wrongs (and we will never hear the full story from both sides) it's done and I doubt it was anything personal just business. If the Pozzos thought Joka was the best man for the job I have a feeling he would still be here.

Watch out Pozzos, he'll facking murder ya.

I don't think these comments really change a thing. We've still heard zip from the club and they're obviously content to let his side keep filling in the blanks. PO is right - if they wanted him he'd still be here.

yep yep I see that and in any event I wasn't disagreeing with you. We could have the Oystons in charge. Or the Venkys or Mike Ashley or Vincent Tan or Tony Fernandes or any number of owners who own clubs as vanity purchases, toys or whatever goes through their multi billionaire addled brains. Fact is we have come up smelling of the entire Chelsea Flower Show and if there is to be some minor collateral damage along the way then so be it. I genuinely believe there are 91 other clubs I wouldn't want to swap owners with.

Sounds to me like Joka went in high expecting the Pozzos to come back & negotiate him downwards....but they didn't. Perhaps his opening gambit was a wee bit too high.

It's still one man's word against the other I'm afraid. Obviously this may change but if someone offered me a return of Joka at the expense of Flores I'd say no.

Joka's profile isn't strong enough to be leading us in the Premier League and having finally got there our owner doesn't want to leave it to chance. Flores has that extra bit of technical experience we will need and he has worked with some big players, in itself it's a conundrum to keep them buzzing.

Any other season I'd be up in arms as Jocanovic has proven to be very good for us ... but not this one, it's too important. To merely bob around the relegation zone hoping we survive is no longer an option and Gino is obviously not sure Joka is up to the task ... Whereas QSF has been there, done that and got the tee shirt. The key-ring and mug are just a bonus.

To be even more precise it's more like one man's word against nothing. The club have officially just wished him well without saying anything else.
