Cats are an introduced predator which messes with the suburban garden ecosystem. If you wanna keep them then they're bound to do what comes naturally. Could be a Song Thrush next.

In Vialli's defence,I always liked it when he called Tommy "Smudger" and "We are down to the bare bones".

They always sounded much better with his accent! Waste of space, not to mention cash, as a boss though!

I believe you've beaten me quite regularly GF. Usually when I'm p.ssed which I'm not now! I should pay cognisance to that I think!

As Sybil would say "I know,Iknow.....oh I know". I've tried collars but the longest one has stayed on is 12 hours. Mr IBB thinks they undo each others when they get outside.

Haven't seen a Song Thrush since I moved here, but pleasingly saw a pair in West Cheshunt returning from a school today and another pair in Rothamsted Park Harpenden yesterday!:sign15

Perhaps we could speculate as to whether a Song Thrush or Starling will get the job? Probably neither but certainly more use than Hollowhead!

And he did a crap job at QPR. Just goes to show what a change of club can do.

    Wow! God's playing the Joker.

I think the only real blemish on his CV is the QPR job, I think he's done pretty well everywhere else he's been.

The perennial QPR problem, too many ego's and not enough talent ... nothing changes whoever's in charge.

If there's one particular plus for Joka it's his flexibility and the team's ability to switch formations, Zola gave up on it almost straight away and though Beppe had us playing 4-3-3 it felt more like a 4-5-1 except against the dross. Three defeats on the spin saw joka switch to the more accustomed 3-5-2 and despite losing to Cardiff it was a big improvement. Credit to Joka for taking a patient approach that saw us get back to 4-3-3 in the end. (or 4-4-2 diamond for the pedantic).

However it isn't something that Flores is likely to have problems with, good players can play anywhere if they understand their role well enough.

(Edit: we actually need to adopt the formations of the big European clubs, it's where the Pozzo player market is)

There's nothing pedantic about it, it was a diamond! Unless you think Abdi was playing as a striker?

No a playmaker just as a third striker would be in the same formation.

I'm sure you're right. All numbers to me though. But the Joka did say a footballer should be able to play out of position if he's got the necessary skill set.

Anyway, seeing as the lizard's crawled back under its rock for a fortnight or so, I'm gonna get some shut-eye.

It appears **** Advocaat has had a change of heart. Reported that he's about to sign a 1 year contract after previously stepping down and quitting management.

Also, McClaren is on the verge of becoming Newcastle manager. And West Ham seem to be fishing in the big name pool just for the sake of it.

No Prem for poor ol' Slav it would seem.

I've been wondering why this is, a superb manager like Emery or Bielsa can only do so much, the squad also has to be up to the required quality. West Ham just isn't suitable for either of those 2. If it were a Swansea or Southampton then they'd work wonders. West Ham just aren't up to it.

I think it might have something to do with them moving into the Olympic stadium next year. They clearly want a big name to help boost PR/ticket sales.
Which I just find funny. In true West Ham style it's highly unlikely said big name will be in charge by then anyway, particularly if they flirt with relegation.

We may hate West Ham but they strike me as being pretty well run over the last few years (but I would never swap places). The new stadium will almost certainly help elevate them towards the Euro spots sooner rather than later IMO (unless they get Joka, then it becomes a lottery).

Indeed, if that is indeed the case, then a better than their standard 12th/13th placed finish would be better for them i'd imagine. That will only come with investment in players as well as good manager. You need both to be successful!

A few places saying we've signed a 2 year deal with Flores and it'll be announced imminently.

Thanks for the memories Joka, it seems it was a summer fling but a pretty decent one. Joka can leave with his head high at a job done and if we survive next season people should always remember it wouldn't have been possible without him
