Classic Watford to go and lose this one. Might need to lump on Newcastle to try and balance things out.

I’d love to see Success build on last week and really start to establish himself as our number one choice up top. We just look much more threatening with his pace.

I was a the 1-1 as well. Miller headed an equaliser. White for Swindon early on. That was my first ever away game with my Dad.

Yeah - definately remember Cally scoring a freekick. Low curler round the wall.

It took two years for the news to reach Swindon?

I remember that game as it was the first time my parents let me go to an away match with my mates on the supporters' coach.

It was Swindon but it was 1-1. Paul Miller scored I think

Barnes doesn't hate us. When he turned up at the Watford Palace for the Tales from the Vicarage evening he was both eloquent and complimentary of his 6 years with us. GT and SEJ gave him his big chance and developed him. The problem for us is that he does not connect to Watford as it is in the Pozzo era, much of which has been negative from the media. I don't even think his football knowledge is that current so although an intelligent being his insight is on the Merson/ Lawro level.

Unfortunately John Barnes is the best player ever to put on a watford shirt.
What a shame he has nothing positive to say about us now.

It must be horrible for 'big club' supporters and footballing nostalgics to see their beloved teams getting routinely beaten by Watford and Bournemouth.

Being unable to compete with Liverpool and Chelsea must be bad enough, but having to admit that Watford are light years ahead of Newcastle? Christ.

  17. Well I'm including the full shows and bits in-between too!

    12.30: Bournemouth v Man Utd
    15.00: Newcastle v Watford
    17.30: Arsenal v Liverpool
    19.45: Wolves v Spurs

-2 handicap at 15/1... It's like printing money.

Feel sorry for Rafa as he's a decent manager but can't see anything less than 4 or 5 nil thrashing.

Very funny - he was very consistent. Consistently brilliant.

Whatever people think of his punditary please do not let it make you think he was not outstanding. For Watford and particularly Liverpool he performed top notch week in week out. Liverpool’s most influential player in their best team for last 30 years

Some of the predictions on here are laughable, similar to the B’muff ones. We’re not going to go up there and stuff em four or five nil, I’d be amazed if we win. We’re Watford, we put a **** performance in every few games. Always have, always will. It’s the watford way.

Oh yes I was and I think many people saw JB through yellow tinted glasses, he was brilliant at times, but never week in week out and he would often go missing during the match on many occassions.

IMO Cally was a better player, but he was also the favourite Boo Boy for many WFC fans. Barnes could do no wrong for many WFC fans and Cally could do no right. If Barnes missed a sitter it would be unlucky Barnsey, but if Cally beat three players then the keeper pulled off a worldy save from his shot, it would be you useless **** Cally you should have burried that.

Barnes was a decent player and could be brilliant at times, but I think he was overrated by many here at WFC.

I’ve fancied coming to a few away games (I’m rarely able to go to home games either) but I always thought we sold out our away games allocations, has that not been the case this last season or two?

Some games we do. Some games we don't. For example, we rarely ever sell out Burnley away because it is oop North, the football is normally turgid and it's cold. That's fair enough.

On the other hand, we always sell out Bournemouth because it's a smaller allocation, relatively close and football is good there.

Most others are really hit and miss but in most cases, we never fully sell out which is bizarre in my opinion.

My prediction is for Newcastle to play the worst they have played for years. A proper stinker from front to back - same as everyone else we've beaten this season.

Of course, our players will have played ok - but when your opponent puts up such feeble resistance, you're bound to look half decent.

For the record I was a big fan of Cally and I agree he was severely underrated and often unjustly criticised but I can’t agree with you on Barnes. He is certainly the most skilful player we have had at Watford and I will be forever grateful that I saw him play for my team for six years.
