Welcome WF. Are you originally from Finland or from UK and moved there? If from Finland, how come you ended up following the Hornets?

Ty Voice of reason. POstman delivered a package yesterday: full away kit withs socks oc too, new WFC summer shorts, new XXXXX around the neck (its winter now) and three DVDs. Looked at 07/08 season and with that great start and that great team we shud had won the NPower ! Last time i ordered clothes was around middle or late 80s and those clothes have really got small, washed them a lot :)
Those days i had to get to the bank and buy out a check and send it to Vic SHop. Ordered 10 years home match programmes, when Watford was in Finland 1988 John MClelland got all players autographs for me :D

Hey everyone, thought I'd drop by and say hello. Been a horn since birth, have the John Barnes baby snap to go up as my avatar later. Had been a season ticket holder until I was 19 and started working more, still get to at least 5 games a season, normally away games now though for the atmosphere. Been trolling this site for years and thought what better time to introduce myself when there's so much daily activity on here. Favourite player from my youth is a toss up between Richard Johnson (never forget that bullet against Wolves) \ Kevin Miller \ Mooney! Any way hi for now and hopefully speak to you all soon :)

It would be nice to say so unfortunately not, we're a cricketing family too, just not that standard. Avid Watford fans though the family, still a few season tickets between them and now 3 generations of Hornets :) forgot to add was a junior hornet since I can remember, mascot on numerous occasions, just wish I timed my kenwilworth road mascot appearance to the 4-0 drubbing, ahh well was in the stand for it and will not let the (scum) side of the family forget about that day ;) tbh my best memory of a watford game has to be the epic Peterborough away game, what a come back, climbing those fences, people tooting their car horns for ages after the game.....do miss those crazy times, ahh well we're back onto something amazing now, certainly some good times ahead it seems

Hello and welcome to everyone who has posted in this thread since 17/06/11.

On that day, Royal Ascot continued. Katie Price was photoed with a drag queen and the Aussies deported some murderer.

Football gossip included a Spurs swoop for some guy called Falcao, Sir Alex backed McLeish and Chris Kamara and Brendan Rodgers completed their ascent of Kilimanjaro.

The lighter side of the news included a story about two 17 year old 'boys' who had illicit affairs with their tutors at school.

    Lucky guys.

Born in Vaasa Finland so I am a Fin. Often tought i have been a londoneer in my past life cause of some reincarnation ideas :D
Well, i played soccer oc myself. In Finland and Northern Countries we have always had UK soccer LIVE on saturdays. I used to sit and watch TV and at the same time listen to Paddy Finneys Saturday Special. I even reported to local paper the goals and got some cash when in high school. Why then Watford and when did IT happen...well i was about 13 or 14 years old so it had to happen between 81-83 something. The climbing from Div 4, Elton Johns involvement whos music I like, WFC beeing a smaller club like my hometowns soccer and ishockey teams = i always like to back up underdogs. Barnes et Blissett era, FA Cup final vs Everton, Mo Johnstone, George Reilly, Graham Taylor, Les Taylor, Steve Terry, Wilf Rostron and John McClelland etc etc. Then THE dream came true 1988 when Watford did a pre season via Sweden to Finland AND landed in our harbour. I did go over and met them already in UMEÅ Sweden! Did have all 4 h on ferry with team managed by Dave Bassett. Cant exactly say when or what weekend this affection went deeper. Always loved the climbing - almost with the same team. Thats someting that must had been super for the players! FInland dont belong to Scandinavia, we belong to the Nordic Countries, even in the Swedes national song they sing for all of us: " I want to live and i want to die in Nothern area!". We have a lot of common in the history ( Vikings). Finlands history differ most due to the fact that we have a common border to Russia, that has unfortunately had dark affects cause of the intrest from Russia to get access to the sea. We have defended their offensives in 2-3 wars most succellfully! But thats all about history, this is a soccer forum. We had planned to arrive for 29.3 Friday game but 3 mates backed off, I am not intrested to arrive to London by my own. Easter shud had been good! Hull away on Monday aswell! Cost from Finland Vaasa about 800 EUR.

Last but not least tehere is a lot of wannabee fans around teams like: Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United mostly. Core fans has something more deeper in their affection to THE club! Watford has a very very special place in my heart! Always wonder like walking around Hertfordshire when i for ex hear this song:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FK8e2QpDxsw

ALways liked the fact aswell about the family club atmosphere!

Always will rember John McClellands comment when he came out from the bus at the Umea harbour and saw me - a WATFORD supporter in that IVECO kit, red shorts and very very short hear = i was in the army eith an extra free day! John went in to the bus again and shouted: "Look guys , we gotta Watford hooligan here!"

Yes, booze is way too expensive. Winter is dark and cold, summer is hot and way too short ( 4 months). Therefore we have to take trips to Canary Islands every winter :D

Having recently returned from there, I recommend Cape Verde as a slightly warmer alternative. Not much to see, but great beaches, wonderful people and a very easy country to get along with for a bit of winter sun. I've never been to the Canaries, but I don't like Spaniards.

Hello every one ... New at this, but trying to get the hang of it.

37 years old swede, have been shearing for Watford since 1986 and are gonna see my first live Watford match at Vic the 4 May against Leeds, and party all night when we reach Premier League. Or?

That´s why I got in to this forum, because I wanna be more then just a internetfan when I get over there. I´m gonna go with my brother and my friend and we are gonna sing as loud as you guys.

I wanna be a real live Watford fan when I get over there. That´s why I´m here, and of course, talk football.

    Hello everyone!

    Hi All,

Thought I'd better introduce myself properly after my first post being an unashamed plea for votes in a competition....

Been a season ticket holder in the Rookery since we moved over there in 1999 - Travel to as many away games as I can manage (and afford), buzzing about the season so far!

Don't normally do forums but going to try and make an effort!!

    Cheers!

    Hello fellow Hornets.

Just thought I would quickly introduce myself. 21 years old and born and raised in Ruislip (in the borough of Hillingdon, hence the name). I've been supporting the Golden Boys for as long as I can remember as my late father has been a supporter since the 1970s. I first got my season ticket in the Lower Rous for the 1998/99 season when I was just 7 years old and was a season ticket holder up until the 2009/10 season. I had to give up my season ticket when I moved to Durham for university, but I finish my degree in June and I fully intend to get my season ticket back for next season, hopefully with the Watford as a premier League team!

I'm joining this board primarily because I lost my father in last year, and with it went the only person who loved Watford as much as me. Most of my friends are typical Chelsea, Arsenal and United fans and so I need somewhere where I can talk about the team I love with others who support the club. My father being Glaswegian originally, I also grew up a fan of Glasgow Rangers (I see that a few others on this board also have a soft spot for the Gers so I thought i'd mention it).

It will be nice to meet you all. COYH.
