It will be sh*t. We all know it will be. Yet we'll all just go along with it like the sad lemmings we are. Has anyone got the balls to say no? They're changing the badge yet still have us running out to that utter cr*p Zcars every bl**dy week. Idiots.
I don’t like our badge. I’ve said it. It is distinctive but it is confused. It is stylistic of a hart but stylistic in an outdated way, it looks like a moose, it just bloody does. To us and to everyone else who sees it. We have had better badges before. The hart is a beautiful animal, the hornets we have had look good, what we have now isn’t good. I especially dislike the yellow black AND red one. I’m for change. If we want to push for a top 6 place in the future we need foreign fans and their money. I’m usually against **** like branding but can see we need it here Or we can stay in the past with our technicolour moose
Guys, we are slightly jumping in. First, we have to be clear on the objective. Is Gino looking to expand our fanbase from W Herts into S Bucks? If so, to embrace the values of this new demographic, the badge would depict a Jag parked outside a golf club. If Gino has a bolder vision, the Asian audience, our kale juice sipping designer would immediately pinpoint the issue. To reflect the potency of Watford’s attack, the badge would need to show a rhino horn. Logically, this leads to a full rebranding. Radlett Rhinos. Or is Pozzo looking to tap into the biggest potential audience of the lot, the digital universe? But how to marry this concept with the humanity of our long-standing fanbase? Easy! Showcase the forum! So, at the big reveal, expect the badge to be a beautifully crafted image of a middle aged man slumped in front of a computer. Note the attention to detail: the trousers being worn round the waist rather than the ankles. WFC Forums WFC!
To fully depict the new Watford, the badge needs to shout "Italy" and "Loans". How about one or more of those creepy Wonga dolls eating a bowl of spaghetti ? With the demise of Wonga we probably won't need to pay anyone to bring them back to life either so won't need a 2 year transfer embargo to pay the fees of a 3rd party marketing Co.
Any Watford fan under the age of 50 wouldn't really know any different though, other than the change in font in 2001. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
Partick Thistle asked their fans to design a new mascot a while back and they came up with this. I like it and hope Watford fans come up with something similar for our new badge.
Forget The Hornet. We actually need to get away from yellow as our colour if we want to make it. Pasty white Englishmen don’t look good in it. I drains any slight bit of colour from their pale, bloated pissed-up faces. Yellow is the colour of perennial losers, yellow bellies. Only Brazil can pull it off. Take a straw poll of people in your office now. Asked them their favourite colour. The majority will say red or maybe blue. Strong colours. Only the weedy little twerp sitting in the corner with his hand-me-down trousers with a stain shaped like a map of Cyprus on the back will say yellow. Red is where she should be headed. A bold, aggressive colour made for winners. Look at the teams who have won lots of trophies, Man Utd, Liverpool, Nottingham forest. Look at the fast cars that successful people drive, red Ferrari’s or red Porches. Red is proven for winners. Let get away from this tiny yellow insect mentality and move forward. A vote for red is a vote to win
I can honestly say I never even noticed that on the back of my shirt! At work so just googled it to see what it was!
Don't fancy red myself, but as I wrote in the other thread, would not mind us going back to blue and white, and being The Brewers again. Then we could have a badge with a frothy pint. Lovely!
Watford Football ClubVerified account @WatfordFC 32m32 minutes ago | We hope all those with us at The Vic for 'At Our Place' last night enjoyed the evening. As well as our usual Q&A with key figures, we talked about our fans having their say on the future of the #watfordfc club badge. (1/2) Watford Football ClubVerified account @WatfordFC 33m33 minutes ago | The club is not changing the badge, this is a chance for fans to decide if YOU want a change or not. You might love it as it is, you might be enthused to change. All opinion will be welcomed and you will decide. (2/2)
Here's a survey rating all the badges in the Premier League. We are mid-table even in this league, although we're described as "Bombastically awesome". I like that. PS. It's the only time you'll ever see Newcastle in the position that position. https://talksport.com/football/449429/every-premier-league-club-badge-ranked-worst-best/ If you need some inspiration for designing something new, here's a video of all the crests.
