Less than a week after playing us. Watford Observer says it’s understood no positive cases at WFC but testing not compulsory at this level and is only undertaken if symptoms are shown. Whether we go above and beyond that is anyone’s guess. Still, could give the club a new story to spin regarding missing players... https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...sitive-covid-19-test-less-week-watford-match/
Yeah I saw that. I hope Ivic washed his hands after first bumping him. I do wonder why they all fist bump each other, seems unnecessary. Let’s hope the club have better luck getting tests than I did for my child yesterday.
interesting. That may explain why he was absent for their defeat against Barnsley in the Cup. I hope he gets well soon but I do fear due to age etc. Nice bloke. Hope you get better Neil.
You've given them an idea Watford Football Club @WatfordFC · 3 Watford can confirm that Welbeck, Pererya, Sarr, Capoue & Suarez are all self-isolating after being in the same stadium as Neil Warnock, who today has been diagnosed with Covid-19. These players will not be available for the upcoming matches against Sheffield Wednesday and Luton Town.
“Troy Deeney is currently due to be tested but has been quoted as saying that he is big enough and ugly enough to not let Covid affect him”
Troy could take on Covid on one leg. Fact. All these wimps like Neymar and Mbappe getting it and what did they cost? £100m+...Troy only cost 300k and has already outperformed them by not getting it.
First and foremost I hope Warnock is OK. I've lost a few friends very prematurely to it, many others have been seriously ill. Get well soon, Neil. Without compulsory regular testing of all players, the EFL run the risk of postponements and cancellations. I hope it doesn't come to it, but should really be the first priority.
I think getting Covid at his age and the concern you've passed it on to your family probably puts you under pressure
It's a cash issue though. The EPL can afford testing every week whilst the EFL hasn't got a lot of money and most of the clubs can't afford it. Sorry to hear about your friends, I hope it's over soon before we lose more friends and family.
Agreed - I like Warnock, I like his honest approach. First and foremost he is is a family man with young children, football is irrelevant. Get well soon Neil
Agree with the above posts, Neil is a good honest bloke. I never use to be a fan, but i've come to notice it's usually the teams he manages I dislike. Get well soon Neil.
Sorry to hear that, Ágætis Byrjun, and of course I wish Neil the best of luck in fighting this horrible thing. Surely the EFL themselves can pay for tests? If they're gonna keep games going, but clubs can't afford to carry out tests, who else is going to do it? I understand PL clubs are carrying out tests for EFL clubs when they draw each other in the cup
