Poor old Djedje. Good enough to be called up for the Ivory Coast last week (he was an unused sub), but not good enough to make any of Watford's Prem squads or even make the bench for our traditional exit from the League Cup at the first hurdle, and no rumour of a transfer or loan out at any time. Is he really that bad? He seemed perfectly competent in the few fleeting moments I've seen him play. He's either very very unlucky or happy to sit around collecting his wages like Winston Bogarde at Chelsea a few years ago. Can anyone shed any light on this mystery, or have you all forgotten that he even existed?
Complete and utter waste of money. Injured when he signed, injured again at the start of this season and not included in either PL squad in between. Was an odd signing in the first place becuase we really didn’t need him. Why he wasn’t sent to Udinese is very odd.
I don't know how reliable this is, but the Turkish transfer window closes on Friday and Bursaspor (or BDD's agent) are reportedly looking to get him on loan. http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/watford-defender-brice-dja-djedje-wanted-by-bursaspor-4197993
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/15541799.Djedje_hits_out_at_selection_snub/ Has been sounding off about not being given a chance, being left out of squads and being refused the chance to be sold or loaned. If he's not good enough to be included, I really don't see why we would refuse to let him go. One of the most pointless and confusing signings we have ever made and total waste of money.
He sprained his finger, and that kept him out of the squad? He needs to follow Janmaat's fitness regime, then he'd get ten games a season
Yes it certainly makes you wonder, its as if we have to always have at least one player on our books who costs a fair bit, who has no chance of playing and we are stuck with them and doesn't even make the 25! I must have been away when the premier league or the rule makers Sky brought that one in!
Anyone else think that the 25 man squad rule needs changing. Is it possible to sub out a long term injured player? It should be.
I feel this thread needs a poll. Is Dja Djédjé correct in feeling a bit miffed at being left out? If Brice is wrong or if the Brice is right?
Still not happy: http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2017/brice-dja-djedje-at-watford-i-am-treated-like-an-animal/ Suggests he had a bit of a bust up with Silva which would have hardly helped his cause..
So he has no idea why he is not in the squad, got a message saying that silva wanted to speak to him, and he refused to attend the meeting? He sounds like a tiny brained, ranting brat.
Saying he trains twice as much as anyone else? Saying he had ‘always’ been ready? Saying he has played a lot for the youth team? Maybe Watford haven’t treated him well but he’s also very guilty of embellishing the truth it’s seems from those statements. What a complete waste of funds this guy has been. I can see why he wasn’t allowed to join any other of our ‘sister’ clubs if this is his attitude. But don’t put it past Gino to break even on him somehow!
Seems like Silva just didn't fancy him ahead of Janmaat or Kiko. http://m.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk...t-at-watford/story-30518929-detail/story.html
He would have been good to have in our first season in the prem, but we've move on from players of his skill level now. Probably.
I read that our average was 35k p.w. Last season, if so you would hope he is nearer 10k than 20k but hey-ho it's not our money, it just seems a strange way to run a business!
