Won in the nick of time tonight. He' got a habit of winning an epic match then collapsing in the next one.

With a day off now, if he wins his next match then my tip is he'll get his first grand slam.

I wouldn't be surprised if he thought "oh well given this a good go but not that bothered about comimg back from a break down to play on Monday"

Well done to Murray though considering he actually did suffer a couple of knocks and common sense used by the organisers to let play go over the 11PM time limited.

Cilic had a long match too both will need their day off!

(Bet they won't be moaning though like some football managers/players would be!)

Murray is a good player to follow. I want him to win when he plays his matches, but when he loses, I don't give a ****. It's a win-win situation.

I covered myself. Put 5 Euro on Tsonga at 12-1. Likely he and Murray will meet in the Semi.

Well done Andy. Unlike the England football team he does have ability.

Some thanks also to Lukas Rosol. Time to beat the smug Federer.

The man is one of the most dislikeable, rude, miserable, moaning, over hyped sportsman in history. Even in his interview now having got into the Wimbledon final he's just coming across as nothing but miserable and rude, as usual.

I also despise the way the English public treat him as if he's one of our own, he's not, he's Scottish. We wouldn't root for a Scotsman in any other sport and I find it incredibly cringey the way the public rim Andy Murray purely because we haven't got any good English players of our own any more.

I'll admit he sounds miserable most of the time, but that doesn't make him a tw*t. He's not overhyped, he's miles ahead of Tim Henman (who had more hype) and a top four player! The most overhyped is that Tom Daly! He's on everything!

I would. I do. I see myself as British, sure when it comes to football and cricket then I follow England. My favourite F1 driver is Paul Di Resta and my favourite IndyCar driver (now) is Dario Franchitti, both Scottish. In the Olympics I will support English, Welsh, Scottish and N.I. athletes equally.

The Olympics is a team sport, Wimbledon tennis is not, it's all about the individual. So why would I possibly root for someone who is not only incredibly dislikeable, but is also from Scotland, not England? Maybe if the man was even in the tiniest bit likeable then I'd support him regardless of whether he's Scottish or not, but he isn't.

And yes, he is over hyped. Every year he's built up to be this top, top player who will definitely win his first slam and every year he fails, the same way Henman did. He's now 25, at 25 just in this era Federer, Nadal and Djokovic had/have all won multiple grand slam titles, and even the likes of Del Potro already has one, and he's younger than Murray.

I expect and hope Federer will pick him apart in the final.

Its been really gutting to see him lose in so many Wimbledon semi-finals,but now he can put all that right by going one further and choking when it really matters.
    ANYONE BUT MURRAY!!

Most Olympic sports are individual, just saying. I don't understand the reference to him being Scottish all the time? You say because its not a team sport he doesn't represent Britain but himself - fair enough, so what does it matter if he's Scottish, Turkish, Latvian or Korean?? Why does that come into your decision?

He's not over hyped, he is a consistently top four player and IS the most talented British tennis player in a very long time. Maybe he will never win a major, it doesn't matter he's still one of the top players. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic have never won the Grand Slam, the Grand Slam is when you win all four majors in one calendar year :p But in terms of majors, thousands of other players haven't won one either yet are still good players.

For the record, I think Federer will win any way.

Good for him (least its some of the presusre off the guy now) but do think Federer will take the title.

I don't mind both so not fussed overall.

Guess a bit of sporting history will be created either way!

BTW Who will Sue Barker support - She's a keen fan of both!

Him being Scottish doesn't have any real baring on my opinion of him as a person or my dislike for him, I bring up his nationality because of the ridiculous way he is treated in this country as one of our own and as if he is in any way representing us, which he is not.

So, if he never wins a major, but continues to spend every single year of his career being touted as certain grand slam winner at some point the way he is, he won't have been over hyped? Yes, he's an excellent tennis player, but he is over hyped, at least at the moment, and if he continues to fail then in 20 years or so people will hardly even remember his existence.

The hatred is down to him wearing an Argentina shirt a few years back when England played the Argies. Murray said it was a silly joke.

There is no rational reason to hate the bloke, it's pretty sad to read some of the sh** I've heard on here and elsewhere today. When did Murray ever over hype himself? It's the pathetic media we have that should be on the end of our vitriol.

Unfortunately, even though I'd like him to win he will be torn a new one by Federer, of that there is little doubt.

I've given plenty of rational reasons for the dislike of the guy, and no one ever said it was Murray himself who does the over hyping.

I actually like his personality. It's part of the reason he's one step better than nice guy Henman.

I think it's funny the way he responded to moronic post match interviews. I'd have done the same.

I think he has a dry sense of humour and is a great player. The best British man since Perry, of that there can be little debate and even then, you can't compare the two.

I think he'll beat Federer. He certainly has it in him.

Yet Tennis is an event at the Olympics... He may not win on Sunday but he has done very well to get to the final after having the toughest draw out of the top four. Federer was very impressive today and Murray will need to play his best to beat him but he is capable of it.

Hence me saying "Wimbledon" tennis... Tennis may be an event at the Olympics and of course there's the Davis Cup, but it isn't a team sport.

I think that part of the reason I have no desire to support Murray is that I don't really care for tennis, but the main reason is that he's Scottish. I don't mean this in a derogatory sense at all, but he's Scottish and I'm English. Yes yes I know we're British on paper, but I consider the Scottish, Welsh and Irish separate to my country and in my heart, it's just not the same cheering for a Scotsman. If he was English, I'd have a greater desire to see him win, as it would be great to see an Englishman win Wimbledon for once in my lifetime. Murray is Scottish though, and Scotland (just like Wales, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland) means absolutely nothing to me. They are separate people.

I don't like Murray, and I don't dislike Murray. I have no feelings towards him. Good luck to him, but any cheering for him would be totally artificial as far as I'm concerned.

Hope Murray wins, Fed looked class yesterday though. Murray is just your average dour Scotsman and most sportsmen these days have no personality and are media trained.

You guys should be following the men's doubles final. A Dane and a Brit playing two other people - Germans or something. Anyways - it's 1-1 in sets currently. The Dane/Brit combo are massive underdogs for this but are holding their own.

Technically Murray has a better all rtound gasme than Rodg. Rodg wins because he is stronger mentally and is clever enough to conserve his effort for the more important points.

That being said their head to head is pretty good. I've also seen something different in Murrasy this year. I think Lendal is doing him some good.

What do you want ? A top class player or a person with charisma ?

Messi does not have the same appeal as say Cristina but he's a damn fine player. This isn't a personality contest. Someone like Andy all the time over someone like David Crapham who is always desperate to get into the media limelight and whose personality is like a limp lettuce with intelligence to match.

I hope Andy and he has all the tools to win does indeed so and add's his name to all those other illustrious Scot's sportsmen from Eric Liddell to Chris Hoy:

Nielsen is the grandson of two times Wimbledon finalist Kurt Nielsen. Hope he and Marray do it. They've beaten the Bryan's so anything is possible.

Will many Danes be watching Kris ?

I suspect so. Most people thought Wozniaki would be the first Dane to win a title there but Freddie has a chance. Unfortunately they threw away the fourth and with Freddie's injured wrist it is uphill from now.
