    The best line in this..Brilliant

She said: “My son is five months old, but if he was old enough, he would probably be upset.”

    PMSL..

She also had 400 goes on the machine, so that's a good three hours of her time and her baby's development time with its mother that also needs properly compensating.

I wonder what the baby's father will have to say about this waste of the family finances.

    Oh.

  7. Poor kid.

Got no chance in life when the stuffed fluffy elephant has more brain power than his mother.

Given he has at least a 50% chance of looking like Shergar's unfortunate-looking sister, I bet he would

Got to be a caption competition surely?

    I'm going to go with.

Baby: "Yeah, I know, I know, but I've got to live with this for the next 17 1/2 years".

    Or

Mother: "Can't really complain, at £100 and 4 hours it's still cheaper and less time taken queuing than obtaining it from the Disney store"

Aside from the obvious stupidity of simply not going online and bloody ordering one, I do have some sympathy with the notion that blatantly rigged games shouldn't be a thing.

I remember finding out when I was a kid that a coconut shy had glued the coconuts to the cups. My whole world came crashing down in that moment.

Payout clearly can't be 100%, but 0% isn't reasonable either.

Odd that she is brandishing an elephant when she was trying to win a teddy bear.

Maybe not the main point but disconcerting nevertheless.

Quite fitting that it's Dumbo though, I reckon.

By the way, those crane machines cannot be 'fixed'. Not without an internal camera, some sophisticated GPS claw location system and some sort of device to increase the PSI of the claw grip.

Those things work like the penny falls or the basketball hoops at the fair etc. Simply on the principle that you won't win very often and even when you do win, it cost you £1 to have a go and the cuddly toy is worth about 30p.

Thankfully my littlest one's interest in these (and the FNAF toys as 'prizes') has finally waned*. I watched a Canadian lady one night feed the other side of £50 into a 2p falls game in Broadstairs and was very proud of here collection of figures that may have had a street value of a fiver tops...

    *"...we're spending a fiver - just £5 on this machine - OK?"

I suspect Dumbo will be briefing his legal team.

I always thought the living dead was just fiction but these people really do live among us. I've met a few this year myself.

I suspect she thinks it is a rare type of teddy bear. Hence the preparedness to spend £100 in trying to acquire it.

I was about to register my disgust about this story as the age of the complainant hadn't been mentioned, but it was further down in the article.
I am still however in the dark as to how much her house is worth. Until the Star start researching their stories thoroughly, they'll never reach the heady recognition levels quality publications like the Mail have reached.

I think the last point should be fine. She would be delighted to think her vote was 8 times more valuable.
