    i get signed in automatically when i go to the site. no idea how but very convenient.

    When you first logged in there would have been a check box that you ticked to say "remember me", ticking this would have placed a "cookie" on your hard disk that's accessed whenever you visit to log you in automatically.

    Often we have a few visitors from google, yahoo and other search engines. These are called bots, and are here purely to index the pages for future searches using those search engines. There's never usually more that two per day, but they tend to hang around for hours at a time. Before the official site went down a couple of us sent links to this forum to yahoo on the same day. A couple of hours later we had over 500 guests arrive :eek: All of them were search bots. 2nd most scary day we've ever had here ;)

    all a bit sci fi having androids visit you and lurking tho isn't it. like a visit from the thought police

    yep... I regularly clean up my drive. My machines are used for alot of video editing, so can't take risks with them..Don't need anything that might slow down what is already a slow process. Hence no cookies or any dodgy trojans etc....not even the Irish Virus...lol...love that pic
