[CONFIRMED] Molla Wague

I think the thing with Kabasele is that he is actually too disciplined. Last year h only picked up 1 yellow in 18 appearances which suggests he doesn't go in for as many challenges as he possibly should. I like him for his goalscoring capabilities, 3 in 18 for a CB in the prem is up there with the best.

 

Maybe he's so good he doesn't need to tackle.

 

I tend to agree but I guess the back up plan is for the CBs to give it to Chalobah and Doucoure to move it forward.

 

His defending looked very good against Brighton, I know that at first showing nobody was that impressed, but given a few starts I'm hoping he could do a Doucoure.

Kabasele is quick and is mobile, which are things our defence has lacked considerably. His passing is on par with the better defenders in our squad. He is also an average tackler; he isn't the worst or best at defending in our squad. These are his biggest assets to our defence and he is useful against pacey opposition due to this.

Something that is a concern however is his tendency to lunge into last ditch tackles which could and has cost us penalties, notably in the first half against Brighton with their first real foray into our box being case and point. This would indicate a tendency for poor positioning to start which would make sense appearing he started off as a Striker, which I doubt will significantly improve as he is 26/27 Years Old. I know it's been done to death but he naivety in going down against Bournemouth is simply unacceptable. Granted, we haven't seen anything like it since but there will always be that doubt.

 

Comparing the season where he played the most games, the 15/16 season for him, with our other defenders from last year, he actually stacks up pretty good against them. We might seriously have a very good CB on our hands. Leicester obviously saw enough in him to give him a shot. Had he not dislocated his shoulder in his first game, who knows, they may have signed him permanently.

I am not Sherlock - he must be on his hols. I agree with most of what has been said about Kabasele. With the risk of raking over old coals his injury against the Muffins was worse than it first appeared. He is highly rated by the club, he's sniffing around the Belgium squad and bear in mind that most defenders mature more slowly. The encouraging thing is he grew into the Brighton game. Hopefully Silva gets the opportunity to use him more regularly. He is versatile and can score goals. This could be his season but definitely worth persisting with due to Cathcart's injury and Britos' lack of pace.

Looks like Molla could be playing on Saturday. Seb has just been replaced after 35 minutes for Austria. Possible injured hamstring.

 

Unbelivably, despite having 6 CBs we are down to two...after only 3 games.

Actually those stats are good and make Wague look poor. When you do it over the 90mins his stats look even better and he actually has the star next to some more things. Feel free to go do it yourself though mate and post it yourself.
