[SOLD] Midfielders Leaving?

With Hughes and Chalobah coming in I'd say it's a certainty that Watson and Behrami are on their way, but I also expect one of the "first choice" players to make the move out as well.

Here's hoping it's Capoue and not Pereyra or Doucoure!

 

Probably just Behrami and Watson, looks like Silva will play a 4231 so two deeper CMs and one attacking.

Can you imagine if we started with 3 English midfielders one game, just for a laugh

 

I'm sure it will happen at some point.

 

An interesting question is are we still in for Lemina? If not, is Gino putting the money away for another window, or investing it into a different position?

 

We need at least one or probably two out and out goal scoring strikers, we need to splash the cash to bring them in IMO!

 

Some people are going to have to go. We're full up.

We've still got Arlauskis too I believe, although i don't know for how much longer

 

I felt it was a given that he wouldn't have a spot.

 

Is Capoue still with Mino Raiola? If so he'll probably be on the move.

I'd love to see a manager get some consistency out of him but not sure anyone can.

 

I wouldn't want to see Capoue leave unless Lemina comes in. Raiola has a good relationship with Watford (thank ****) so I think he'll stay. Capoue on his day will be better than Cleverley/Doucoure/Hughes. It's upto him to keep his spot.

 

Happy to see him stay but needs to put in a regular shift.

I do think we will get Lemina if we haven't already lined it up.

 

I imagine Watson and Behrami are on their way. Hoban on loan somewhere. Either Pantilimon or Arlauskis I expect to be gone too because we brought Bachmann in. Other than that it's hard to pick anyone as obvious transfer fodder.

 

Dja Djedje is now third in line for RB behind Femenia and Janmaat so maybe he's gonna be shipped out?

I'm a fan of Amrabat but would prefer Berghuis on the wing or a new signing, likewise with Kabasele (was dodgy at times last season)

Behrami and Pantillimon surely going...

Also Zuniga has been rumoured for a return? Would like to see Mason getting more games this season at LB

 

If we sell Watson and send Hoban on loan then we have one spot for a home grown player...

Had it with Capoue and his one third of a season wonder. Offload him, soon as.

 

A couple more would have to be for the chop, I think that we still need a striker and a keeper, the latter would mean Pants as well as Arlauskis would be on their way out.

 

Still need 1 more at the back. Goalie seemed high priority a month ago so I'd say we will get in one once 2 are off? Strikers all quiet at the moment for press bits. Gino on the stealth again just like Robby Pererya last season hopefully! Lemina would only be coming if Capoue was off so I reckon that's it for midfield and if Zarate was off I would expect them to replace him too.

 

Have to say though it's been an unusually calm window so far hasn't it?

 

Don't forget Prodl! However I do believe Success has 1 more season left where he counts as an U21 and doesn't need to be registered. Anyone who was born after 31st December 1995, right?

If we play with 2 each week then we need 4 in the squad to cover injuries, suspension and form.

Cleverly and Capoue are both more effective when a little further forward

 

.....and Watford line up with Cleverly, who came through the Man Utd youth system under Sir Alex. Chalobah who was at champions Chelsea under Morinio and ****e. And Hughes who started life at Derby, imagine what a player he could have been under Brian Clough.

.....yes, yes it is a shame that they never made it. The senior England team had such a bright future.

Once we have offloaded Watson and berhami it's hard to see which midfielders we would sell to make room for Lemina. If we can move on Capoue then it would free up space, but I can't see us prioritising a new CM with the squad looking like it is at the moment.

 

I get the first two links as they played under those bosses but it's a bit tenuous to link Will Hughes to Brian Clough!

 

Unless you put Pereyra as a LW with freedom to roam?

 

Not sure why people still bang on about Lemina? Surely now our central midfield areas are full? Even with impending sales of Watson and Behrami!? Hughes, Chalobah, Cleverley, Capoue & Doucoure can all play in the holding role and Hughes, Cleverley, Zarate and Pereyra can all play in the CAM role. More than enough depth and quality.

Think we just need to add:

A first choice keeper
A left back
A centre back
A winger
A striker

Five more additions along with a couple of outgoings and we will be complete, IMO.

 

He's been pretty consistent for Watford

 

Hughes and Chalobah aren't guarantee starters. They are good cheap buys of future potential but no guarantee they are ready to take the prem by storm. Yes they are England U21 midfield but to put into context, Livermore is a full England cap in midfield. I would still like to see an experienced CM arrive but doubt this will happen now given we need to strengthen other areas too.

 

The problem with that is that it's very clear at this point that his day only comes every 1 in 10-15 matches, without exaggeration. Against that backdrop, his profile apparently demands he be a first choice starter, no matter how he performs. For that reason, I'd be pleased if he left.

 

We need to remember that we were informed a couple of times that we would be signing 2-4 quality signings - I very much doubt we will be signing 7.

GK - maybe, but only if there's real quality to be had or someone homegrown. I don't see any names that will be instantly better than Gomes for a year. This can realistically wait until next season.
LB/CB - I definitely agree here but I wouldn't be surprised if it's only a left-back and he keeps the central defenders we have or perhaps buys a defender who can play in both positions.
Winger - I'm increasingly of the belief that using Success and Berghuis more this season, means that we won't be looking for a winger as a matter of urgency.
Striker - YES. Two of 'em please preferably but one real quality one will do.

Very much doubt that players like Capoue or Zarate will be leaving but you never know. Arlauskis, Behrami and Djedje can go and free up some overseas spaces if needed.

I said it on another post - a handful of names will come in but one of the matters at the top of Marco Silva's job remit will be to get much more quality and consistency out of what we already have.

 

Capoue out, Lemina in would be another option
