[NOT HAPPENING] Michy Batshuayi

Apparently there was a lot of talk about this at the game yesterday. Rumoured to have agreed a one year loan deal and will be announced tomorrow after medical.

Personally think it sounds like a load of ****, but thought I would post it here.

That's exactly what I said when I heard. Apparently there were stewarding issues at the ground yesterday. Although Britos and Peneranda watched the second half in the rookery with the fans.

 

There have been quite a few rumours of where Batshuayi will end up since the World Cup.

The latest two being Atletico Madrid and staying at Chelsea. Before those it was Valencia I believe.

 

As I've said before, we could be the ideal club for him to showcase himself.

A season loan with us could do him the power of good and you never know he might even be willing to sign permenantly should we want him, especially if we have a good season. Many on here have said there is no chance of him coming to us, so lets hope these rumours going around yesterday are true, because in the words of Kevin Keegan, "I would just love it" if he did.

I agree with the sentiment, but in general, a lack of activity from those sites is not a negative indicator. Gino tends to ensure that they find out just after we do.

 

In the incredibly unlikely event of his signing, this is his song, as the backing vocalists are clearly singing his name from the off.

 

Which means we are just as likely to be after any striker on the planet as this guy !

Well, if the Alcacer rumours are true and he is on £150k per week we can definitely kiss that deal good-bye, unless he takes a significant drop in wages (won't happen), so who knows? Batshuayi may want to stay in England and may not want to move out of London, which would put us in with a great shout of getting him, surely? I think we were linked quite heavily in January with a loan move before he was used as a pawn in the Giroud/Aubameyang deal. Didn't move to Dortmund having done a decent job, so don't think Chelsea would want to sell him just yet, so fits the criteria of a loan move, or could've been a case of Batshuayi not wanting to move out of the EPL/London.

I wouldn't rubbish this suggestion just yet. Would be a very Pozzo-like move.

This window all our links to players have been tenuous since the first flush. The Pozzos have been extra stealthy and nearly all the rumours are coming from selling clubs or players agents. There seem to be no confirmation from sources close to WFC. The Wobby are particularly rubbish. Football London I find are actually better at reporting from the Vic but have no better insight on potential moves. Just hope we are still at least looking for a striker and possibly either a CB/ winger. Although happy with our business to date and our pre-season we need a proper third option up top.

 

Not so bothered with the striker issue. Apart from Gray, I don't personally think its about player ability or quality, I think it is a problem we have had for a few years that we seem to be failing to connect between midfield and attack. I'm confident that if we can find that connection, Deeney and Okaka will do the business; I even think Gray is capable of accidentally scoring ten goals!

Very happy to see someone come in, but I have confidence in what we have got. Just relying on tactics from Gracia that will not cut them off.

 

90k per week is the widely reported salary for Alcacer. Could be that £150k is what he wants. Hard to see how we could increase 90k.

Agreed. Don’t think Barca would be paying 150k to a squad playing 23 year old ( when they signed him)
