Been playing with excel. Here's the forum membership since it openend Based on new registrations. Obviously people you have been banned or spam accounts that have been removed are included so the actual membership total is more like 4,400 or so as of today.
So who wants to put some events up to correspond with spikes in new members? Obviously you've got narrowly missing promotion this year.
I'll start you off; Nov 2006: Fishal site forum closure Nov 2008: Hoofroyd's departure/Todgers brought in
There's been an increase in members in the order of several thousand percent since I joined. No surprises there really.
I took over around the point of June last year, that kind of incorporates the social media increase too that Squibba mentioned
Interesting that since the arcade was dropped the numbers have kept increasing, I think that was a good move. Twitter feed is a great idea and obviously works well. You could argue that team success brings numbers in but the rise between 2006 and 2011 shows that's not necessarily the case. The simple fact is that a nice looking, easy to use and well run forum will always bring in the members, so hats off to you chaps.
Since I joined many have followed my trend and joined also.... #influence (not) I think I joined before the official site closed. This was a long time ago now. The spike in 2008 is definitely the demise of Boothroyd as someone has already previously mentioned. Slight spike around June (just after) 2011, is that when Malky left?
I remember the day that the Russo's threatened administration. I was the only mod on duty. Wore out my mod stick that night:dismay:
As of lunchtime today: Threads 40,670 Posts 828,117 Members 4,439 Active Members 828 (posted in the last couple of weeks or so) I'd say a good 80% of those are Lizard's trolls though.:]] Were getting near the millionth post:sign15:
I have contributed to 0.07245% of the entire posts and this is my 600th post. I feel such a sense of pride.
You are perfectly right and I will readily admit that the standard of my 600th, whilst still brilliant, fell so far short of the previous 599.
Is there any reason why the most users on here was registered on Valentine's Day in 2010? Was it a bad night, I can't remember.
