The f**king woke brigade out in force everywhere.

Listening to a one-sided story. Chose to leave the UK as supposedly didn't want the publicity, yet are bloody everywhere and voluntarily giving an interview with the biggest interviewer in modern day broadcasting! The hypocrisy stinks.

Not to say there isn't an element of truth to this and IF someone has cast aspersions based upon skin colour then that's shocking, BUT, I do believe a lot of this has been engineered by a couple of spoilt little brats.

Just my opinion, for what it's worth.

  2. Not that they didn't want publicity. They didn't want the poisonous hypocritical press coverage she got compared to Saint Kate.

Good luck to them. And anybody who uses the term 'woke brigade' is a **** who has swallowed all of the **** that the Daily Mail and Daily Express has been shovelling for decades.

Just my opinion too. But there you go.

Regardless of what was said, true or not, heartfelt or performed, the reason they did the interview was for personal financial gain.

media companies need content they can sell for subscription and advertising. No doubt ITV paid a good amount and made more from advertising.

They are now in the celebrity business and in that you need attention to make money.

Not that it makes it ok, but the way Harry worded it and was so vague, surely the ‘what will the kids look like’ comment was probably from his grandad?

It will be the evil step mother Camilla. I bet she offered Diana a red apple thirty years ago too.

I think what we're seeing is simply the reality of what life is like for a former royal who has left the fold.

Harry can't just go and get a "normal" job (and probably isn't remotely qualified for most career paths, either, if we are being honest), he can't pursue his one proven non-royal vocation (military) since he said to be putting his colleagues in danger, and he has to make a living.

Given that he probably don't want to go peeling spuds on a minimum wage job and wants to continue living in the manner to which he has been accustomed since his birth, news-whoring his family out to the media he claims to despise so much is the inevitable option.

I admit I am also very sceptical about some of the language used. Emotionally charged terms like "suicidal" shouldn't be thrown around with the casual ease that Markle does; I suspect she was a very long way from suicidal.

Unhappy, I have little doubt about. She came from a completely different world culturally, coupled with being a celebrity in her own right, so it was inevitable that she'd never fit in. She's used to being in control and that simply wasn't on the agenda after marrying into such a stage managed institution. Anyone used to that level of freedom would resent the restrictions placed on them.

  8. Yeah, I'm a woke lefty. Happy to reinforce your Dacre formed worldview.

I used to really enjoy "Suits", liked Meghan's character in the show, and thought she was a good actor in that as well.

I'm honestly shocked how much this has changed my opinion of this young family. It makes perfect sense how they put it.

I expect the fallout to be epic.

I didn't watch it and I've only seen clips, but to me it looked like two extremely media savvy people with a cooperative interviewer aiming for maximum impact, with carefully chosen words and well aimed innuendos.

Sure the Express and the Mail would be unsympathetic, but you can't tell me that the media here are so of one mind that they never got the chance to be heard or treated fairly?

The former and current staff who accused Meghan of being a bully and a bitch, all in on it?

I'm absolutely sure that the Royal Family are a difficult bunch with a combination of centuries old custom and deep rooted expectation, plus the UK media is a vile circus (though not sure that's uniquely british) however, it's entirely plausible to me that the reason so many people dislike Meghan is because she's just, dislikeable.

The thing is, she's now thrown her only punch. The Queen and Charle cannot respond in kind, but they will have a much wider and longer campaign. They have to defend a a thousand year old institution. It's in their blood.

I don't think it matters anymore how it plays in the UK. It's the US audience that's the target now. Meghan can be a pariah over here to the Queenie loving flag wavers, but as long as she gets gigs in the US for shooting off her mouth and a friendly welcome from patriots who feel that the old redcoats couldn't accept a good old yankee girl, then it will have worked for her.

Not something I was aware of as I don’t take an interest in them normally, don’t have social media, or read tabloids etc, but in the interview they showed two identical stories involving her and Kate, one was around how they held their bumps the other was around eating avocado for breakfast. The story around Kate was how she was lovingly cradling her bump, when it was Meghan it was out of ego and vanity. Kate apparently found Avocado as a miracle cure for morning sickness, with Meghan she was accused of eating a fruit linked to water shortage and environmental devastation.

Two identical stories, two completely different angles. So it does appear the press had it in for her, whether that came from them directly or was directed by people within the royal family who knows. Plenty in there that was a bit vague and difficult to believe, but also plenty to sympathise with.

I'm not convinced either way, I think the Royals are outdated in their customs, and I like the Queen but I am sure that those traditions are still adhered to because of her, and i think over the next two generations, they would disappear. but they aren't harmful, they are just daft. I also think that such a family is capable of asking what the baby would look like and dark skinned with ginger hair and beard would be an interesting combination, but then I would have thought that any parents in any mixed race relationship would have similar questions (although not "concern"). Context is all important here, and the actual words used may have been withheld because the actual comments were innocent, but not newsworthy enough. Let's not forget, the interview is a brand building exercise by the couple and the £5m for Oprey Winfrey, of course.

But Meghan was not being truthful. From the start of the interview she said that she had never even looked Harry up on the internet before they met. Does anyone actually believe that one of the most social media savvy Hollywood celebrities did not do that? What other half-truths or exaggerations followed in the rest of the interview. If Meghan's allegation that she could not get help from anyone because she was not a paid employee of the "firm" it is shocking, but is that really true? Couldn't her husband have stepped in? But if true, then name the person that said that!

I think this is a time when the traditional Royal silence needs to be discounted and proper responses are required. Either an acknowledgment and apology if the allegations are true, and then they must then try and rebuild their thinking, or the alternative versions of what happened.

I didn't agree with everything Alex Beresford was saying, but he laid into Piers Morgan who walked off in a huff. Morgan showed that he is totally unable to take what he gives out to politicians every day. He is a bully.

Has anybody asked why Megan Markle is estranged from her own family? You have to ask if her own family are nasty to her as well, or could it be that she is the nasty one?

I've tried to avoid this but it's ******* everywhere, did anything interesting actually happen in the interview? It all looks very mundane from the BBC article and overhyped. Any real bombshells, or just a bunch of rich people moaning about other rich people?

Correct, if you can't get along with your neighbours but they all manage to get on with each other, it's you not them that are the problem.

    This is a bit naive...

For example, there are large parts of Belfast that have typically sectarian households. If I were a Catholic and lived in a Protestant area, am I the problem for my neighbours not liking me? Substitute religion for gender, sexual orientation, race, etc if you wish.

The royal family doesn't historically paint itself in a good light when it comes to racism. With regards to Meghan's father, I don't know the ins and outs of that but I know there are plenty of people who become estranged from their families for a variety of reasons.

To label Meghan as the problem because she doesn't have a good relationship with her own family and also calls out the royal family for their shortcomings, is a bit lazy.
