Sky Sports now reporting that Mazzari claims he would have taken the job but the translator wasn't listening to his instructions.
This is getting silly for Palace. The trail seems to have gone cold in respect of Dyche, particularly as Parrish would have to pay Burnley 1 million pounds compensation. That obviously sticks in his Craw! Pellegrino is the other stand out candidate but no means certain he is looking at EPL. That leaves Hodgson of course but his ship has sailed in respect of football management. As it is now also unlikely to be Mazzari the leaves one final quality candidate - DAVID MOYES. COYHs!
Dyche will stay put. Doesn't seem like the kind of Manager to leave a club without being pushed if he feels he can improve them. Hodgson or Pellegrino.
Sky had a story earlier that Palace were in talks with Pellegrini, that story has since been removed and even if you find the link, it comes back saying this page can't be found. I guess they meant Pellegrino instead maybe? I can't see Pellegrini leaving china with the pay packet he is on. If he does then Palace will be paying him some big money. If reports are to be believed then Pellegrini is earning somewhere between £15mil-£25mil per year. I can't see him leaving that for Palace.
"You say Pellegrino I say Pellegrini, let's cook some egg and chips. Ino,Ini,Ini,Ino let's buy some more hair care products". cont'd page 94.
I've often wondered why clubs are always so reluctant to pay compensation for managers when it often pales in comparison to what they'll happily fork out for players. £1m for Palace is nothing.
I see Parish now as Hancock in 'The Radio Ham' desperately searching for the manager whilst Yoki in Japan grabs him from under his nose! "This is GLK London signing off for a quick cough and a drag".
agreed. the manager is by far the most important employee at the club. Getting the right one is the difference between having a successful season & relegation
Personally I'd have been happy enough with rolling Allardyce down a hill but would have stayed well clear of rolling him up it in the first place ...
I understand managers time at a club is more uncertain than that of players, but that surely comes down to the board/chairman picking right to start with. Another mark on the board for logic failing in football.
Their Chairman's claims that Silva was never on their radar are looking less true the longer it takes for them to identify a new Manager... I'd be a bit concerned it's taking so long if they hadn't already spoken to their "first choice"
Latest on their forum, (now up to 365 pages on the new manager thread), is that they're trying to get Allardyce to change his mind. Does he speak English?
I think if Sisyphus knew that such a punishment may be likely he would have been much better behaved! Probably would have stayed in of an evening and read the Ephrya Echo from cover to cover with a mug of tea and a hob nob!
The situation isn't good for Palace (but is hilarious) and it also adds to uncertainty at Burnley. It is a good job Gino got Silva in quickly that's all I can say.
Palace miss out on yet another no.1 target, Pellegrino has joined Southampton. They will claim de Boer was who they wanted all a long for the past 4 weeks
Spoiler I wonder if that's why Southampton have acted. Although Southampton are a much bigger and better club than Palace so I doubt they are even after the same targets Small club Palace are trying to get the likes of Hodgson, Dyche and Pellegrino Southampton will go for Schmidt, Tuchel, De Boer and maybe even Luis Enrique Must be horrible being a Palace fan and having your chairman lie every time you miss out on your number 1 target. Can't wait for them to get Pellegrino or Hodgson and Parish claim that's who they wanted all along. You've changed your tune
Not really, I wrote that when the bookies had de Boer linked with Southampton and Pellegrino was the favorite for the Palace job.
Palace will appoint ashen faced Ron Knee, formerly in charge at Neasden FC. Sid and Doris Bonkers will assist.
