[REPORTED] Matt Grimes

Given that Swansea were linked with Garner as a Grimes replacement, I'd figure its a sure guess that we brought in Garner instead of Grimes. Close thread.

 

I hope this thread lives on and Grimes is remembered in the same way we remember Sam Parkin.

I’ve also heard this just FYI.

 

I’d love to sign Grimes but if we do see fit to bring in another DM I think a foreign loan + option/obligation to buy deal makes more sense. To prise Grimes away from Swansea would take £10m or so. Surely bringing in Oriol Busquets or someone in that mould (youngster, out of favour at a bigger foreign club) on loan + option to buy should we get promoted is more plausible. Can see us going without though.

 

If Caps goes we need another CM, I'd think.

My contacts have told me that whilst this is a possibility, it is unlikely to happen before the international transfer deadline, although there could still be some movement before then if a few other transfers line up.

If Capoue is still here in a weeks time, then we're unlikely to move for Grimes, unless we receive a decent transfer windfall elsewhere, which we may or may not do. We're interested, but put off Swansea's current asking price.

I've just heard more or less the same from one source, and the complete opposite from another. A third source said that the actual truth is somewhere in between. This deal is very much on. Or off. Or it never was.
