An 80s icon passed away from a brain tumour she'd been fighting for 17 years - she was a fighter and a hottie back in the day.

Most famous song was 'It must have been love' used in Pretty Woman, I found it cheesy and schmaltzy, but as my girlfriend at the time loved the film and the song...I had to endure it in return for...you know...other stuff.

Personally, I preferred 'Listen to your heart' which led me to dump the one above.

    Anyway, RIP Marie.

I was a massive Roxette fan in my early teens. Saw them play Wembley a couple of times and had their posters up on my wall (next to the Watford ones). Still reckon I know the words to most of their songs.

Thought about going to see them when they toured here a couple of years ago, but didn't get round to buying tickets. Wish I had now.

    Very sad.

I didn’t much like Roxette (it’s not like they were aimed at my age group) though they were good at what they did, but I saw Marie Fredrickson at a local gig in the South of Sweden, must have been late eighties before Roxette and she had an absolutely belting voice. RIP
