'One Saganowski, there's only one Saganowski' would fit the tune. His name's not difficult to pronounce; just remember that 'w's are pronounced as 'v's.
Good Grief... I've just found a compilation of goals from this Polish geezer we got on trial. He don't look half bad.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCV_FORI-jw
3 goals in 16 isnt too good though. Better than DHs 0 goals in 17 I suppose! About a minute of that compilation is the same shot shown from many different angles. Having said that he can certainly hit it!
That is at International level though which isn't easy ofcourse. Looks like a good European forward though and worth a risk on a loan deal with not a massive wage/fee involved unlike a lot fo English strikers.
He looks the part He certainly looks good on the videos, but how long ago were they filmed? Having said that, he looks quality, and he should not have lost that at the age of 28?
Sign him up ASAP. Can't be any worse than we have at the moment. The lads are trying but without Marlon its like Pi**ing in the wind. I hope he will follow Billy Sharp of Scunny and a.n Other. Yellow army keeping the faith even if we look like we are doomed !!!
A word of caution I have C+P the report below from another thread, because it seems strange that we kept that guy for 4 WEEKS, and then rejected him, but we are going to make a decision on Saggy...whatisname in 4 DAYS! As the author of the post below says........ Are we getting desparate or what ? Default Rafik Djebbour From Sky Sports... Rafik Djebbour has returned to Greece following an unsuccessful trial with Watford. The 22-year-old striker has been training with the Premiership club for the last four weeks but failed to impress manager Adrian Boothroyd and did not earn a deal. It seems The Hornets did not impress Djebbour either though, as reports in his homeland suggest he did not care much for their style of play. Djebbour has now declared that he will not return to Atromitos Athens and will look for a new club instead. Are we getting desparate or what ?
Look at our goals for tally, our league position, Darius's goal count, and the striker options that we have on the bench. Of course we are f'kin desperate!!! He may be on a four day trial, but you can bet he has been watched and spoken to already, Done deal I reckon.
It's christmas would you want to be away from family? 4 days will make it the 23rd and i would hope if we weren't sure he'd be back in the new year for longer. I agree 4 days isn't long though. Looks good on youtube but think there is a few seasons worth of goals.
Four days is plenty of time to get a feel for his ability. We are only talking about a 6 month loan deal with an option to buy at the end - we are not spending the Crown Jewels. I would say that this is well worth a gamble.
After watching them goals i have to say i'm pretty impressed, isn't afraid to have a shot and looks half decent in the air.... only problem though, all those teams he's playing against are probably no better than us.
You're right - the lower half of the portuguese table is CCC strength I feel. But who knows - he may adapt well to our game. He can shoot from distance, head the ball, slot it in from inside the box and the chip in the beginning shows he's got a decent touch and a bit of flair. I'd make the gamble if given the chance. Of course my only evidence is that video compilation which isn't much to go by...
He also scored against bolton in the uefa cup! Both footed Can shoot from distance Can score a one on one Can score against a premiership team Can scoe in the box Could be worth a punt!
new striker... I think his form at previous clubs and his goals scored to games played ratio is completely irrelevant. The lad has obviously great talent in abundance, a good touch, silky skills and the abilty to accurately put his boot through the ball and bury it when required! An eye for goal! ! ! His lack of form could be down to a number of reasons, wrong club, wrong manager, confidence etc.... Aidy will sort that out! (like he did with that waster Marlon King who was heading for medicrioty before Aidy got hold of him) Hope his 4 day trial is a formality... He looks **** hot!
saying what level he's playing at is ********. look at kevin doyle. he played in the irish premier division before the premiership which is about league 1 level and he's the leagues top scorer now
So because Doyle managed to play at this level it's completely irrelevant what league Saganowski plays in????? Theres plenty of players to counter argue you're comment about Doyle! Despite this, i think he has the "midas" touch and could be worth the punt! Can score with his head, scrappy goals, chips, out side of the box. He also has 2 feet and on top of this he has a great first touch by the looks of it! Nothing to lose but it's all down to if he impresses aidy or not!
chez I was responding to people saying the league he is currently playing is not as good as the prem and gave example of what kev doyle did
Well I guess we can only look at Heidar when he first came here... it was a case of Heidar hi.... heidar who???? Still think this is a cunning ploy by Aidy and is a smokescreen for when he unveils none other than Lee Nogan!
He Aint Coming! Sky Sports claim watford arnt intereseted in sagan after his trial. leaves me very anxious. WE NEED SOMEBODY GOOD! These lower leaguers are gonna be jokes i can feel it.
hm....interesting because it might be any reason knowing Aidy. We do need to get a good striker in but not at a silly inflated price like 6 million for Nugent who is unproven at this level. To be honest the only Premiership based forwards I can see coming is somebody like Rossi on loan.
