That seems like a good system to me.

I hear Silva has been in secret talks with representatives of ATV Irdning.

Was meant to be serious. I like the idea, and it should keep both Dof. and coach happy, as they are both getting an input, and agreeing together.

 

Yes but remember there are only 6 other teams on Everton’s level. The rest of us are just tinpot.

 

It worked just like that, and like clockwork. Except;

• the players said we aren't signing for WFC, they're tinpot, and
  
• Gino said "I hear you'd like this chap Gibbs. Well the good news is I've found someone even better, who coincidentally is also cheaper, called Zeegelaar".....

 

God help the Board if they fail to get the snake's targets. He'll be stamping his feet telling the world he's been let down and it was not what he was promised when he joined.

 

I'm keeping an interested eye on this

There's a feeling that (not really all that surprisingly) we are struggling to get rid of the deadwood in the squad

Been very clear that Moshiri won't sanction any further big spending until the wage bill is brought down and the dross is gotten rid of

If we continue to struggle to get rid of these players (which I see as very likely), there's every chance that the number of incomings won't match what Silva wanted and that will be the point where we find out whether what you guys castigated him for plays out at Everton too

 

Last time there were statements like that in the press, it was snake making veiled threats to the board...
Will history repeat itself I wonder?

 

We would certainly be interested in taking off your hands any that are 1/ on long expensive contracts and 2/ are refusing to either move for a lower salary, or play .

Ours too given the trial we are giving to Rodwell hoping he can recover his Everton form !

 

His Everton form consisted of scoring a good goal when he was about 18, before spending the rest of his time here either injured or passing the ball sideways and miscontrolling it

If that's the form you're hoping he recovers, I have a feeling you may be disappointed

 

It's all total speculation at the moment as to how well Silva will fare up at yours - annoyingly for us, he could be a success!

But what could play in to your hands is the fact that he cannot afford another failure on his Premier League CV. His time here ended in disaster, and people only remember his relegation at Hull (not the part where he gave them a fighting chance). If this turns out similar, he's surely done in England and will need to rebuild his reputation abroad.

Therefore - if he ends up with a squad not at the level he was promised - he may well be inclined to get on with the job and prove himself to be a capable coach rather than somebody who sulks and downs tools when things aren't going his way.

Both here and at Hull he started brilliantly, so I'd reserve judgment for a few months should you get off to a flyer this season.

 

So far he's said the same thing when he joined Everton as when he joined us, and a similar thing about the board working on targets that have been agreed. If the window closes and he laments the last week of transfer activity, he's pretty much going to be a giant ***** as soon as a couple of results don't go according to plan...

 

According to a Teamtalk article this evening we got £6m compo from Everton for the whole Sliva shindig.

I've no idea how credible Teamtalk is - hopefully for their sake they have a better reputation than the level of their grammatical accuracy.

It would be nice to think we did get £6m, but until it's reported by a better source that consists of at least a small piece of evidence, I'd be skeptical over the truth of this.

As for the £50m double swoop - I'll stick my neck out again and say that Gino will never sell to them regardless of the amount offered (especially 24 days before the deadline, alerting all the selling clubs you've got a big chunk of money but need to bring in replacements).

 

I think we all know that this is almost certainly complete testicles

Those two are players I can imagine we would be interested in, as they fit positions we need to strengthen, but for obvious reasons it isn't going to happen

Only way Watford would sell to Everton this summer would be if we paid a fee so ridiculous for someone that even Watford fans would be happy with it. Whoever wrote that wasted a few minutes of their life and equally caused me to waste a few of mine in replying here

They settled with Big Sam with £6 million - think its just a reference to that compensation.

Clearly things aren't going as Silva planned

 

After a thumping 22-0 win, Everton followed up with a 1-1 draw against Bury. First teamers were in action. Silva has started hissing.

 

I like to think that the reason Everton still haven't signed anyone is because the Pozzo's have black-listed Silva and Moshiri to all the agents in the world.

 

This should be fun

 

What's your take on it? I'd be a little disappointed if he does go, he's finally had a rest and should get better, but at that price, we'll have plenty to reinvest in positions we really need to. I'll be honest, it does reek of desperation from Everton, but there's a good young player there

 

Apart from the 'double' part, this has not aged well. My application for official ITK status is looking doomed......

 

I'm hugely surprised and also disappointed. Richarlison is a good player with potential to get even better, but we are potentially paying well over the odds.

I neither thought that Watford would entertain advances from us for him, nor that we would offer the kind of daft money it would take to get him

He's a player with a lot of potential but feel like we are being taken to the cleaners here (which, let's face it, is the only way Watford would have sold to us this summer anyway)
