That doesn’t sound like a neutral perspective at all!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no more keen on the guy than anyone else but to downplay his achievements before he joined us is pointless and bitter.

He took Estoril through the leagues in Portugal. Regardless of the quality, Estoril were at the lower end of the scale and what he achieved with them was brilliant. He then won Sporting Lisbon’s first trophy in ages. He then done well in Greece and had an unbelievable home record. He then took over Hull who had by far and away the worst squad in that league and we’re dead and buried. Granted, they choked when it mattered but they shouldn’t have even had a chance.

And then he came to us and had us flying high until his ego took over.

I’m not a fan of him. But save for the last couple of months with us, his record is very good. I agree that he moves on too quickly but he was seemingly on the fast track and up until Christmas this season, he was well on course to where he wanted to be. Once he’s confirmed at Everton, he will be painted well again by the media and he will see the last 6 months as nothing but a hiccup on his personal route to the top. Whether he gets there or not, remains to be seen.

If he gets the Everton gig he can kiss goodbye any slim chances of compensation money. I am intrigued to see if Watford get anything from Everton if he is hired.

It'd be interesting to see how he does. I think everyone worked his tactics out after a few games.
I wonder if he comes calling for Rich

I really hope slippery silva does go to Everton.

Two treacherous back-stabbing sneaks with wildly over-inflated opinions of their own capabilities who richly deserve each other.

And it will have one of two inevitable outcomes, both of which will provide guaranteed belly laughs for Hornets everywhere:-

    1. Silva does great and wins some games. Silva gets poached by a proper big team. Everton are left in turmoil.

    2. Silva does rubbish and loses most games. Silva gets sacked. Everton are left in turmoil.

Exactly. Say what you want about Silva as a person, but he's a far better manager than what we have now. We scored at least 2 goals in every away game up to Newcastle away. That, right there, is a winning mentality - to go to someone's ground, attack and show them no respect. The football had purpose and intent.

****ing Moshiri, basically. Thats and a horrific injury list.

I'm gutted about this to be honest. He'll have a shed load of money to spend there and I reckon he'll do well. The icing on the cake will be when he swoops for doucoure.

Silva’s managerial ability with Gracia’s ego please.

    3. Silva does well, wins a cup, qualifies for Europe and stays on for a second season. All the while, we have another 4 managers, all equally as dull and average as Gracia and debate relegation and sub-standard defenders.

I had really hoped that Silva would get a job somewhere on the continent as I can see him doing well at Everton sadly and the sense will always be that we will be looking at what we could have had if he hadn’t turned out to be such a ****.

He is very good at getting players to go all in and believe in him, and his project. That is a skill that very few have. However, when that bubble bursts, like when he tried to ditch us after 7 games, he completely imploded.

I'm not going to pretend his plan A isn't great. We made a fantastic start. He is a bright young manager. He may have only wanted to leave because we offered him more than he got, and he had to start the season with somebody as bad as Holebas in the team.

However, to be a top manager, you need to be versatile, be long term in your planning and know when to bide your team. He came across as petulant and out of his depth in the way he handled the Everton approach. I'm not surprised that he hasn't immediately been inundated with top jobs; he probably would have been if he bit his tongue and took us through to the end of the season. No chairman wants to have to rip up their plan before autumn even arrives.

I think he will go to Everton. I think he will do well. I don't hate him. I simply think he has cost us, and him, a year of progress through his immaturity. He may never get a chance to manage a club like Arsenal again.

The one thing I really hope is that after what happened, it hasn’t put Gino off attempting to hire another manager similar to Silva’s abilities further down the line - a succession of boring, percentage-playing managers would be the enduring legacy of Silva’s demise.

Everton fans not exactly thrilled about his appointment. He'll need a start there like he had with us or they'll quickly turn on him as he isn't a 'big name'.

I’d say it’s more RC’s ‘sense of humour’ that he copied and pasted something that had been duplicated previously.

I’m still baffled why people have more than one account on here though.

We all knew he was going to go there.

I highly doubt he will be allowed to sign any Watford players while he is there for the first 12months. Gino won’t want the camp to be disrupted again by him, so no doubt there will be some sort of agreement banning Everton from approaching our players. Carrillo going back to Benfica means Everton will sign him. Remember Silva promised to take him with him haha, good luck with that Everton.

As for Richarlison and Doucoure, they have moved on from a small club like Everton and rightly so have been attracting interesting from the top 6 as well as top clubs around Europe.

Even though Richarlison has gone off the boil, now the season is over, he needs a good long rest. The boy is shattered. I hope he is still with us next season because I think with a rest and good pre season, he will come good again.

Doucoure deserves his chance to shine in Europe so if a top 6 club come in for him and the money is right, he will go. I won’t hold it against him (unless it’s chelsea). With Dembele saying he is leaving Spurs because he can’t keep up with their pressing game, Doucoure would be the perfect replacement for him.

To be fair, as I've said elsewhere, everything was flying in for us early in the season. I was at Southampton away, of course, we played very well, but aside from two 25-yarders, we didn't really create many clear cut opportunities, similar to the Bournemouth game too. Our strikers are so **** that we were always relying on our midfield for goals, but that eventually dried up too, and then later we were even left with a Richarlison who couldn't hit a barn door. Obviously injuries were a problem all year, but Cleverley played almost every game under Silva, then got injured first game under Gracia, which you could argue made Doucoure not look so good. Then of course there's our defense, we never had a settled line-up under either, but Gracia got us a lot more solid, yet not sacrificing our attaking play neither. Really, we didn't have that many poor performances under Gracia, and before we go anointing Silva as the next top manager, remember, it was 9 games before he got the hump, he's not exactly got bags of experience of top level football

Basically, I'm sure Silva is a good manager with the potential to go far, but he's still inexperienced. Everton have a big job on their hands to actually create a coherent team, wouldn't be surprised if they're 10th by January and the owners and fans get fed up
