When did we start calling 'the lad' (another ****e expression, usually used by people of the same age or younger) 'Mapps'?

 

It's easier to spell and quicker to type. In this age of speedy communications we need all the help we can get.

It's 'the lad' not 'my lad'.

 

The Lad sounds like some sort of underwhelming member of the Xmen. Tries to defeat Magneto and his evil mutants by going out, having a few beers and enjoying the craic.

 

why do people insist on spelling it this way? pretty sure it was always spelt crack
