I expect we'll dominate the first half, fail to score, Gracia will take off Hughes and United will get a late winner.
We will be on the beach, Utds minds on wemberley. Moreeeneyow will pick **** players just so he can shout at them. Snooze fest.
The one thing that's always puzzled me, is why every professional football player spends their holiday at the seaside. I mean it's not like they can't afford a Tokyo city break say, or safari in Africa, even climb Mount Kilamanjaro if they choose. What is the attraction of Scarborough or Weston Super Mare over Nepal?
I think we’ll get at least a point. United are treating this as a complete write off. Our players will be motivated to catch the eye of various scouts watching, so they can flee the sinking ship ASAP.
Last game of the season at home, press release from Fergie's bedside saying the best tonic for him would be an FA Cup win, west ham bruise a few legs tonight. Could see Man Utd not putting in a full shift. On the other hand our head coach is polishing up his CV this week, the players will be sorting out their holidays and making sure the maids and gardeners are all lined up to spring clean the house while they are away for 6 weeks, and with the unbearable heat this week will mean their minds are elsewhere and bodies fatigued. I can see us getting thumped. I am only going because i like travelling on the M6 on a Sunday morning.
Lukaku is out, was in the middle of his bad patch when he played at the Vic, but he can always turn it on, especially against a defence like ours. We'll defo compete at least, we could fizzle out and lose 3-0 as per usual, or we might nick a result
I love the optimism on here. But I do wonder how many of you have paid attention to our away form and United's home form when looking at this game...
But with a cup final the following week and only needing a point to guarantee 2nd place which I hope they achieve tonight, I can see a lot of changes in their team for Sunday. So we may have a chance of getting a couple of corners.
Everything to play for big win here and a couple of lucky results and we could end up 10th (spoiler - it will not happen) Gray to score 2 4-1 to us Resulting in this being hailed as a golden year in our history , everybody forgets ****y ******** and hails JG as the best things since sliced crust free bread
Given they are mostly young men I presume the young women in bikinis have something to do with the decision?
Seeing as they've already announced Carrick is starting and he's only played 24 minutes all season, I think it's safe to presume they're not really focussed on this game and won't be at full strength. So their impressive home record that was achieved with their best available team is somewhat irrelevant. We won't be playing that Manchester United team.
Will be similar to the recent away match at Arsenal - we'll make a few chances and miss them, Utd will score with their first proper chance courtesy of some rank bad defending, and the game will eventually fizzle out before a late goal puts the gloss on a comfortable home win, 3-0. Nothing like a bit of final day optimism. Would really like to see Gomes make his 100th prem appearance for us, though.
If we are motivated and at it then it's potentially there for the taking. They can wrap up second place tonight and may well be on the beach by Sunday, no Lukaku and Carrick getting a token start means we can win the midfield battle. 4-0 Man United.
The Pozzos would like to gain an extra 10 million or so but it seems unlikely I feel. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ague-club-earn-on-the-final-day-of-the-season
We seriously have nothing to fear from manu. They look so tired and stale tonight and lack any real goal threat. Sunday has 0-0 written all over it.
Not sure. Brighton and West Ham have both had to defend in numbers and concentrate on closing United down. I'm not convinced we have the players to replicate that attention to detail.
Perfect result for us. They've got second place secure, Mourinho will rest most of his best players for the cup final as he only cares about trophies. No-one who has a chance of going to the World Cup will be busting a gut - imagine if you were Lingard, Matic, Pogba or the like and got injured in a nothing game against Watford, missing out on the World Cup! I wouldn't make a tackle and probably wouldn't even break into a trot. It'll be us against their fringe players and the ones not going to the World Cup. We'll never get a better chance to beat United away in the Premier League. Well, apart from that night Ighalo missed about five clear cut chances...
Mourinho's already on it... "It is normal that Michael Carrick is captain at Old Trafford for the last game of his career. David de Gea will be rested, it gives a chance for Sergio Romero to play, I can make changes"
'Dennis Violett,Dennis Violett,dum-di-dum-di dum'. 'Ted McDoughall,Ted McDoughall,dum-di-dum-di dum' 'Stevie Coppell,Go or don Hill' '4-0,4-0,4-0'. Oh sorry,wrong thread.
Best result for us tonight. They will be totally focused on the FA Cup and won’t give a crap what the result is on Sunday. Mourinho will rest his best and we will be faced against the fringe players and break through youth players. 3 points could easily see us finish 10th if results go our way as well.
This is the perfect storm for us, how many chances do you get to play a top team at home when beating them will literally have no consequences for them what so ever? They cant move up or down in the league, they can’t gain or lose prize money, nobody (as far as Man Utd are concerned) will ever remember the result either way, and they have a massive game the following week to prepare for and think about. Unfortunately for us to win we need to be up for it too, which of course knowing us is by no means guaranteed.
