not sure if anyone has seen this but although injuries are severe, I understand not life threatening. How anyone can survive a cash like that I do not know.

What a testament to Prof. Sid Watkins (RIP) and others who have massively improved the safety of racing cars in recent years.

I posted about it on the F1 thread yesterday meister. Lucky she didn't hit the barrier.

Also, she took off on the curb (I think), flying right over that car that was turning right. How lucky was that driver?

Unbelievable. So many things went her way that the guardian angels must have been out in full force.

Yeah, she lifted up off the kerb to hit the top of the second car. I think the second driver was lucky not to be killed, half a metre further forwards and that would've been a direct head strike at 270 km/h. The car cockpits are designed for massive side impacts, so if it was a regular impact it would probably have stayed in one piece and 'just' broken a few bones. Instead the sausage kerb launched the car and was lucky to avoid a fatality, yet I've seen some reports praising the kerb which nearly killed somebody! Also In my opinion the catch fencing didn't absorb enough force before failing.

I have heard she was only trying to park at the local supermarket.
