Word is he only wanted to sign a 1 or 2 years deal but the club wanted him to sign a longer one.

Like you say probably wasting his career here in reality.

Just saw that Isaac Success was subbed off after 34 minutes of Malaga's midweek game against Sevilla, despite not being injured. Good effort.

Stop press - a goal for Amrabat! He cleverly used a massive divot in the pitch to bobble a 30 yard daisy cutter over the diving goalkeeper, as Leganes beat Malaga 2-0:

No Penaranda or Success in the Malaga squad. Zarate should be playing tomorrow - he's managed 1 goal in 4 on his return to Velez Sarsfield so far. Oulare was a 75th minute sub as Antwerp won 2-0 against AS Eupen, Foulquier played the full 90 for Strasbourg as they lost 2-0 to Caen. I'd kind of presumed that Brice Dja Djedje would't have been playing whilst the investigation into domestic violence was ongoing, however he appears to have played in the last four games for Lens.

Pervis Estupinan and Sulayman Marreh both currently in action for Almeria against Huesca, who have lost the last two without Cucho Hernandez. 2 goals for Luis Suarez as Valladolid B won 3-0 at bottom of the table Cerceda to move within a point of safety. Becerra was also a late sub. Pontus Dahlberg played as Goteborg drew 2-2 with Sirius in the Swedish cup to progress to the semi finals. Jorge Segura is in the squad for Independiente Medellin's game tonight against Atletico Junior.

The Watford Observer has started doing a good round up of the domestic loans so no point duplicating that - they normally do it on Mondays I think. I did notice that Pantilimon's loan is going well at Forest and that Karanka has expressed an interest in a permanent deal so good news for him.

It's raining goals for the loanees (well, some of them). Jakubiak scored again (that's 6 in 7), as Falkirk won 3-1 against Greenock Morton. He also helped set up another with a clever backheel. Everything about Falkirk is brilliantly tinpot, three sided stadium (I know, right?), plastic pitch, pub team opposition, commentators that are so bored they can barely be bothered to describe what's going on...

Also on a hot streak is Luis Suarez at Valladolid B, our 20 year old Colombian at Valladolid B. He's got 5 in 6, as Valladolid have hauled themselves off the bottom with quite a good run of form. He's the only one of our four remaining loanees there that plays with any regularity, the others seem to appear every now and again on the bench. That's 10 from 24 starts this season for Suarez.

Mauro Zarate also scored last weekend, with a nice header as Velez Sarsfield lost 2-1 to Racing. Looked like a typical fun-filled Latin American game, with just the four red cards...

Elsewhere, Pantilimon kept a clean sheet, apparently making an outstanding double save as Forest drew 0-0 with Derby. Overweight escort botherer Isaac Success got 12 minutes of action as Malaga lost 2-0 to Barcelona, no Penaranda in the squad (injured this time rather than indiscipline).

Sulayman Marreh and Pervis Estupinan both started for Almeria as they lost 1-0 to Rayo Vallecano, Sulayman made the error for the goal which is a shame as he'd been getting rave reviews from their fans up until this week. Absolutely loves a booking, 4 in 5 games, to go with 2 in 4 he got earlier in the season with Valladolid.

The wheels have come off for Huesca since Cucho Hernandez's injury, they haven't won for four games and their healthy lead at the top of the division is now down to three points. They're hoping to have him back for the game on the 19th March as he's already started training again and is ahead of schedule with his recovery. Pontus Dahlberg was in goal as Goteborg lost 1-0 to Malmo. Obbi Oulare came on as a sub and got booked as Antwerp lost 2-1 to Anderlecht (for whom Hornets-linked Leander Dendoncker was sent off). Dimitri Foulquier was injured for Strasbourg and Djedje's Lens team play tomorrow. Jorge Segura is yet to play for Independiente Medellin since he returned to Colombia after his spell at Valladolid.

Folivi, Bradbury unused subs - Folivi missing the chance to try to score against Scott Loach who was in goal for Hartlepool. Randell Williams and Charlie Rowan can't get in the match day squads for Accrington and Wycombe respectively as both tussle with L*ton for promotion from League 2. Connor Stevens played 80 minutes for Oxford City in whatever league they're in.

Round up here from the Observer. In addition to the above, Cucho Hernandez made his comeback from injury for Huesca but they still lost 2-0 at home to Sporting Heehon. They've dropped to 2nd now after being clear leaders before Cucho's injury.

Sulayman Marreh scored his first goal for Almeria and Pervis Estupiñan played too as they lost 2-1 to Valladolid.

And finally, Brice Dja Djedje is not a happy bunny after the Lens fans unfurled a large banner that said "beat opponents, not wives" in reference to his recent arrest for a domestic incident. He doesn't want to stay there anymore but clearly we don't want him back either.

Superb assist from Cucho Hernandez tonight in Huesca's game. None of our current strikers have this vision, genuinely think he's already better than all of them.

Sign them both up. We’ve not seen a run and pass that deliciously subtle since the days of Sir Almen and Vydra.

Great goal from Zarate last night, that's four in eight games with one assist. Looks like he's having the time of his life back home, somewhat doubt he'll be returning...

Jakubiak had another very good game at the weekend, even taking into account he was playing against pub players. He also had the unusual honour of being on the receiving end of two straight red tackles in the space of three minutes in the first half (skip to 4:39 in the video if you don't want to watch 8 minutes of tinpot football). There's a bit of chatter amongst Scottish journos saying that he is too good for the Scottish Championship. I know he's playing against League 2 (at best) standard players but he looks like a much better player than Jerome Sinclair. Fast, strong, can take players on and finish.

Quick update on Obbi Oulare, looks like his fitness and injury ravaged season is over. According to the Belgian press he came back from Belgian u21 duty with hip and back injuries and needs an operation. He's also suffering from osteoarthritis.

    https://www.walfoot.be/fra/news/lis/2018-04-02/fin-de-saison-pour-obbi-oulare

We've been sold an absolute pup here, all the issues that were highlighted by Brugge fans when we bought him have come to fruition. He's managed just 25 starts in all competitions in three seasons and for four clubs since we bought him. He's 22 now so the fact that he is still breaking down all the time suggests that his body just can't cope with football. Two seasons left on his contract before I suspect he'll be released.

Still, we did beat off tough competition Inc from Man U to sign him so I'd look on it as a moral victory Gino . Apparently Man U are very interested in Billy Sharp .We'd have to act quickly and we may need to pay a little over the odds again.....

Our new goalkeeping wonder, Pontus Dahlberg, had a bit of a shocker with the first goal he conceded during IFK G*teborg's 1-2 defeat yesterday. Hopefully just a one-off!

Bit harsh to say he’s had a nightmare there, I think. Header rocketed at him from about 4 yards away, where he’s unlucky to have not quite been able to move his feet quick enough to block the ball. Given the goalkeeping blunders we’ve been subjected to over the the years, if this constitutes a nightmare for the guy, we’ll have done alright!

I wonder how many of these players we have got out on loan will ever actually play for the club again?

    Not many I bet...

Like any keeper he'll be disappointed to be beaten, but it was a bullet header aimed at where a goalkeeper doesn't want it. Not a howler.

A random thought popped into my head earlier - how is Pervis Estupinan getting on? From limited research it sounds like he had a dodgy start at Almeria but he's improved drastically in the past couple of months.

He looked very raw when I saw him for Granada but was strong, very quick and seemed to enjoy the physical side of the game. He's still only 20 and will be able to get his Spanish passport soon so who knows? Maybe our left back issue will be solved in the near future? Realistically we'll probably never see him in a Watford shirt but it's nice to hear that some of these guys are improving out on loan.

Obviously not an avid reader of this thread, Jim. Their fans absolutely hated him for the first half of the season, as he was competing for his spot with a cult hero and had a couple of stinkers. He was copping a lot of abuse on social media but has forced his way into the team and seems to have won the fans over with some good displays.

When I saw him at Granada, he was good going forwards, decent crosser but positionally awful. Hopefully he's benefited from a season with the man, the legend Marco Motta playing as the full back on the other side of defence.
