Ok. I did watch the game and there were no occasions that spring to mind where Deeney was free in a goal scoring position and a team mate didn't pass, and definitely no glaring ones.

There was one in the second half where Deeney was in the goalmouth and the commentator said he audibly shouted in frustration at Sarr not squaring the ball. But the pass was never really on.
Yep, he had got his feet all wrong as he was not quick enough to get there in time..lunged off-balance with his right when even a slightly quicker player would have been able to meet the cross with his left & give the goalie little chance. But at least it seems that someone's encouraged him to try to get across the CB's to the near post for Sarr's crosses.
To be fair, the post he replied to suggests Deeney screamed at Sarr. Given everyone’s protestations about how Sarr is mentally weak in earlier posts, having the captain who should know better than to scream at a young teammate is a valid criticism to make.
Is it? Sarr gets into a position where the keeper has closed the angle and the skipper/centre forward feels he should have squared it. The pass wasn't a golden path but by squaring it with pace there is every chance that goes in either off Deeney or the defender. Sarr deserved to be shouted at and got shouted at. No big deal.
What use is a skipper who is never in position, never really drags the team up from a low point and just shouts at people when they don't give him a tap in every now and again? Why on earth would anyone defend Deeney anymore? He is as useless as an onfield captain as he is as a footballer. Maybe behind the scenes he's a leader, I can't comment, but it seems to me he's just a selfish oaf who expects everyone else to play to his specific limitations.
I'd say that most of them are playing their own, selfish game at the moment. We need to upgrade on Deeney, I don't dispute that. But we still look better up top with him than without him.
Questionable, Success looked more dangerous in his 15 minute cameo at Leicester than Deeney has for the last year.
So including the Spurs cup game that's a game and a bit that Success has looked half decent for now in his four years at the club.
Has he ever had a run of games? If he has a good game in the cup, then guaranteed he'll be back on bench for the next league game, because you know...can't disappoint the Deeney bedroom poster brigade.
Why do you think he hasn't had a run of games? When he's not injured or beating up hookers maybe he just isn't very good.

Whenever I have seen him play, Spurs game aside, he has been woeful. I think Deeney needs to be replaced by someone better, I don't disagree with that. But that means bringing somebody new in as there is no out and out centre forward better than him at the club right now.
Yes, it is. On one hand, you have a supposedly shy and unconfident young lad being screamed at by his captain for choosing what he believes to be a worse option than pulling back/squaring to him... On the other hand you have a young exciting prospect who has the confidence to believe he puts the chance away - and getting screamed at by his captain for it. Either is a poor thing for a captain to be doing at this point in our season - he should be breeding confidence, not knocking it. Especially to Sarr. I actually agree with you that some fans go OTT with their criticism of him. But defending him when he’s rightfully criticised for something doesn’t make much sense either.
I can't disagree. Debating on here about which of Gray, Deeney or Success should be starting is like suggesting whether you'd prefer to be going "over the top" from a WWI trench, armed with a spoon, a fork or a spatula.
We will continue to disagree on this. If he deserved to get a rollocking he gets one. I hate the phrase 'snowflake' but this comes close to making me want to use it. We are a team that is soft as ***** at the moment, pussy footing around and giving a cuddle to a player making a poor and arguably selfish decision won't help that. Does Deulofeu get an extra cheer for being incapable of taking a corner? Should we sing louder for Doucoure being unable to kick a ball cleanly? Time for this squad to man up a bit. If Deeney shouts at him and he disagrees then he needs to bite back, or accept he was wrong and do better next time.
Sarr has been looking good over the last few games. As a team our problem is not shooting, but shooting on target and scoring.
The only scenario in which I would settle for Nige leaving, is one where he is sacked for chinning Giraldi.

Love how Success is the Nigerian Harry Kane now he doesn't get any minutes. QSF, Mazzarri, Gracia, Mullins & Pearson (so far) haven't found him useful. Anything can happen in football but I'm starting to think Isaac Success might not have a future as a Premier League footballer.
