A great decision (for us) ..... should have gone to specsavers !!! Remember him at the Vic earlier this season, couldn't get an offside decision right.
did you see him at the end he was bricking it, good decision for us and fulham but what poor refereeing , i hit the record button on sky + when that happend and watched loads of times he just handballed it pushed it on to the charlton players hand and got a free kick nearly as bad as that sheff utd player who punched it off the line.
Yeah! Just like the linesman could do then! Or not. You fool, all that proves is that robot refereeing with more tv intervention will rob the game of any dodgy decisions and therefore talking points...
That's not true. Even on MOTD, when they show replays of contentious decisions, they hardly ever all agree with eachother as to whether they were definitely correct or not. For instance, in the Sheff Utd. vs. Man City game two days ago, they were undecided as to all-bar-one of the three penalty appeals, such as Richards' handball, even after seeing the replays. So, whichever decision the referee may have given, there would still have been room for discussion and talking points. However, tv intervention would have been able to highlight absolutely definite, without question, ludicrously incorrect or missed decisions which can unfairly cost teams games, such as Kozluk's clearly deliberate handball on the line in the very same Utd. vs. City game.
I'd rather referees went on missing them. Or do you want a snooze fest as all we have to talk about down the pub is the interference rule in relation to offside and how modern day grass growing techniques are affecting the overall fitness levels of top pros? Snooze!
Are contentious decisions the only thing you talk about after a game? There weren't any against Arsenal the other day, did you just keep schtum or talk about modern day grass growing techniques after that? What about how well the players played? How we'll play in the future? Whether the result was unfair? Whether the referee had a good or bad game even if there were no good/bad red-card or penalty decisions, such as if he let the game flow or gave any unfair yellow-cards? Or if any handballs in the box were deliberate or accidental? Or if any fouls in the box, or holding, should have been penalised? TV does not make every decision clear-cut.
I suppose you just have to figure that refereeing mistakes should work for you as often as they work against you. Which means we'll be getting loads of penalties for the rest of the season ;D I hope the lads have been practising!
There are dodgy decisions all the time in football, and some you win some you lose. I don't agree with UEA when he says that if we didn't have them we wouldn't have anything to talk about, but I do agree that they make the game more interesting.
there needs to be a limit i think decisions that are obv should be earased e.g powells penalty at everton but minor decsions should be left to human judgement
