I can't beleive we could not beat Accrington Stanley in 90 minutes or in extra time.
Fair plar to them they played well and to be honest I feel they probably deserved to win, they did get the ball in the net and I don't know why it was disallowed as I was in too much shock to see it go in! They were using the ball well and attacked the whole game and didn't sit back and didn't allow the occasion to get the better off them.

Watfords performance was well below par, I know it was our reserves out there but it did include some 1st team players in Richard Lee, Matthew Spring, Al Bangura, Anthony McNamee, James Chambers, Dominic Blizzard, Adrian Mariappa and Tamas Priskin, so that is 8 players who have 1st team expereience and 6 that have played in the 1st team in the Premiership. So I expected them to do alot better than they did.

Out of the whole team only 3 players stood out for me and that was Richard Lee, Jorden Parkes and Jarrett. The way Jorden Parkes played at left back was brilliant and I feel should be given his chance in the first team, Richard Lee marshelled the defence well and gave right rollockings when they weren't doing their job and had to pull of more saves then he should had to make. Jarrett was making good runs down the flanks and his crossing was accurate and good, in the second half Accrington put 2 or more players marking him.

Matty Spring had a poor game and should really stood out showing his class but was dissapointing, Al Bangura was a bit behind the pace, had a good shot that was saved superbly by the Accrington keeper but got stretchered off and I hope it is not too serious and wish him a speedy recovery. McNamee was in and out of the game, showing some good touches at skill but stood on the byline watching. Tamas Priskin, Ihad high hopes from having had rave reviews from Hungary, he did not show anything last night, he was beating to nearly all the headers by a player that was 6 inches shorter than him and his positining needs to be worked on, as he did not run into space and make a menace of himself. Dom Blizzard had a steady game along with Mariappa. Tiggy seemed to all legs and didn't really impress.

I am glad that we managed to win all be it on penalties but feel we was very lucky.

What is everyones veiws on this?

Do you think Aidy made a mistake be playing the whole resaerve team?

I can understand why Aidy put the reserves out - could you imagine if Young got injured instead of Bangura!! but we should still have beaten Accrington Stanley

I can understand why he put out the youngsters but would of bee better to play some more experience in the side which would of helped the youngsters and possibly won the game in 90 minutes.

The only first team regular i would have liked to see out there would have been Henderson, for my money he has a point to prove and it would have been a good chance for him to show what he has and that he can find the net!

Anyone find it ironic that they started playing "im so excited" at the start of extra time after the most boring match in history

Absoloutely, richard lee and jordan parkes particularly looked as if they were the only ones taking this game seriously. I fealt aidy made the right choice in playing reserves although i would like to see henderson, demerit (fitness) and bouazzzzzzza.
Priskin looked a bit lazy, but hopefully he will improve

With Powell out for a couple of weeks, worht popping Parkes on the bench and giving him the last 10 mins in a couple of first team matches? You're old enough if you're good enough.

good enough against a league 2 side.. would you like to risk him against a prem side?
i dont think he is ready for that just yet, too much of a gamble.

Certainly not from the outset, but if the result was guaranteed, a bit of first team experience will do his confidence the world of good. Mind you saying that it didnt seem to be an issue when he stepped up to take the pen.

im not knocking the lad, far from it, he did a great job the other night, the point is, he would take up a bench spot that could be filled by someone more likely to be used, i cant see us being in a guaranteed result situation often this term.
