Surely left wing is a greater priority than CM? Hughes, Chalobah and Gosling are all capable and Cleverley can do a job every now and then. On the other hand, like others I’m starting to have my doubts about Sema - and who can else can play there? Zinckernagel?

We always get a **** start like City away and another top 6 team as the league likes to give them a nice boost to start with. And they never seem to ever play each other first few games

We always seem to get Arsenal in the last few games as well

I think they're both fairly strong priorities, personally, but we could (and I'd rather) play JP on the left, alongside the potential for Zinck, as well as the possible option (no idea if this will be borne out or not, and I suspect neither will the coaching staff until pre-season) of deploying Cucho there.

In central mid, I'd be perfectly happy for Hughes and Chalobah to be two of the three, and I think they'll do well - there's not even really the question of a 'step-up', because each of them have at times shown they are perfectly capable of being impactful at the top level, Hughes in particular. I would not want to see Gosling starting a Prem game unless it's a severe tactical one-off or the result of several freak injuries, though, frankly.

We need someone who's more mobile, not less, and (again, credit to Jordan Wiemer from the Buzz pod) a high energy box-to-box who can be effective at this level going both ways as a starter is really one of the most important additions to the squad in my eyes - right behind striker and centre back (at least one improvement/addition at full back is not far behind).

Sema has a great attitude but I'd rather see Zinc or Pedro get a game in the Prem.

If we were being hard nosed about it I wouldn't be against selling Sema.
