Apparently, yes he did https://www.watfordfc.com/news/club/contracts-foster-pens-two-year-deal The three other players whose Watford deals expire this summer – José Holebas, Heurelho Gomes and Adrian Mariappa – have each agreed the Fifa-approved contract extensions to cover the delayed finish to the 2019/20 campaign.
Great guy from a fans angle and always a joy to watch. Kicking a water bottle over, threatening to deck fans and his passion will never be understated. He was quality with the dead ball at times and chipped in with the odd goal too. Great work rate and effort - but his aging years were holding him back. I respect his decision to move on, and thank him for his service to us. I do hope he got that gold encased Yellow Card as a leaving present. Take care Holebas x
I can't imagine he would be a great positive force from the bench/reserves in the current situation. Best to remove him.
Probably why he was pissed off when Roma sold him to us. It's the mentality of someone who played at the top level.
I know I'll probably get dogs abuse for this opinion but I liked our back 4 when we had Holebas at LB Britos and Prodl in the middle and a.n.other at RB. Prodl won the headers and Holebas and Britos won the fights !.
Will always remember him taking charge in the cup semi final around the hour mark when everyone else had already admitted defeat. For all those saying they didn't like him, you'd probably not have a record cup final defeat if he hadn't stepped up. A very very good player, probably one of the best Pozzo signings. Angers a few people because he's a true winner - and we don't like those around the club.
Estupinan would be a perfect replacement. Has the same mentality. FFS Gnomio don't let Floppo sell him.
Why would you get dogs abuse for that opinion? It's pretty clear that it was our best defence in decades and we've not adequately replaced any of them.
All things considered a terrible player. He did peak at one point and looked half decent, but he was atrocious prior to and after that short spell. Let’s not forget he was a defender first and foremost but he was terrible at that part of the game. His delivery was also not actually that good, he was capable of a half decent delivery, but on the vast majority of occasions his delivery was awful. People only think it’s good in comparison to the rest of our players, which is no benchmark sadly.
What game was it he faked injury and basically just laid down on the floor allowing the opposition to score? Was it the home defeat to Swansea? What a c**t.
Spot on, this. He was also a very useful ****** detector. Just ask a fan what they think of Holebas and if they say "useless! too many yellow cards! swore at the fans!" or suchlike, you could safely add them to the ******ous terd category and disregard anything else they have to say.
Liked the bloke, and bar a couple of spells, was decent enough for us. Easily the best LB under the current ownership - mind you, I'm the second best so does not say much.
Good stats. I think he pretty much averaged a yellow card every 2 or 3 games. Not many players can boast that type of record
Kind of person you need when it's not going well. Eitherake a strong tackle or shout at the other players get them going
I've seen a private Instagram conversation between him and a fan where he makes it pretty clear something more happened with Pearson.
It's all over Twitter now so think it's fair game to post (mods please remove it if not): https://twitter.com/TommyWFC/status/1286729495463043072
He was actually speaking to the great man and wasted his time chatting about football rather than asking for a discount for his clothing line. Our fans are truly pathetic.
Reading that, sounds like he's mad at Pearson for leaving him out of basically every squad even when allowed 9 substitutions. NINE and Holebas wasn't considered good enough to take one of those spots. Clearly fell out. Masina has a shocker in the same position Holebas plays, we have to move Femenia there and take Masina off for Mariappa. Holebas probably thinks him being on the bench would've been a simpler and better answer than all that and hates Pearson for it. Seems plausible enough!
