Hopefully the awful Flores will be gone by January. Dreadful lazy appointment.
yes indeed and no amount of propaganda from the clubs media department will cover up that reality.
This guy is gonna have a torrid 6 months with us before shipping out to some mid table la liga team for E16m and a leg of jamon
I also saw in the video interview with him in the summer that he'd started learning English already, albeit it would take some time to get to a decent level.
TBH I am not sure how good Flores' English is - maybe it's just me but don't understand it that well compared to Javi.
Well it's already started on Twitter .
Welcome to Pedro etc like he is the saviour !
He will play...but at right back.
In fairness has Flores played any of our attackers in defensive positions?
Hardly any are fit hence having to play 2 wingers up front .
Watford’s last hope
I can't wait for Joao Pedro to go out on loan to Gil Vicentes
Abdi at RB was the closest.
Oh well I did mean of this lot - tbh they probably could have done no worse than Kiko!
All of them.
I can see it now, Pedro is the only striker we sign in January, he's considered not fit enough to play the first 4 or 5 games and then makes a substitute's appearance before picking up a 'knock'. He never plays for us again and he disappears in the Summer to never be heard from again.
I'm sure this guy is a great prospect and has real potential.
But he's struggling a little in Brazil right now and the prospect of this raw 17/18 year old arriving in the premier league, playing in a struggling team, in a different country, probably not speaking the language, at 20 degrees colder than he's used to playing in, and firing us to prem survival is pretty far-fetched. I wouldn't expect to see more than a few cameos off the bench and a round of booing the first time he fails to control the ball or misplaces a pass. A summer start would have made much more sense for him.
The trouble is the Brazilian league starts as ours is finishing. So it would have been another Richarlison situation where he'd play 2 months of football even before joining us.
Fluminense will play their last game on 7th December so this way he'll get a few weeks off before coming over. None of this will make any difference of course because we probably won't see him until March!
But then he'd certainly never get to showcase his talents for us in the PL.
I do love how our Premier League survival this season feels wholly contingent on this guy coming in and being the messiah from day one. I suppose there's a... chance?
Well Mummy Pedro is thrilled according to the WO via some other source no doubt.
Guess the extra income will help the family but hope she doesn't expect to see her boy in action straight away!
STFU. He's our season saviour. We only need a few 0-0 draws until he arrives and singlehandedly fires us out of the mire before a 250m move to Barca in the summer. 22 appearances 66 goals.
as long as Flores is tinned by then or he won’t get a sniff.
Hopefully this guy will stay if we are playing Championship football next year. He may provide a spark when he joins in January, but it is a big ask to expect him to score a load of goals from the start - but you never know. Often young players start well, so he may give us a temporary lift
The Pozzos have lost me credibility with my son. I told him Ikpeazu was a wonderkid. I told him Oulare was a wonderkid. Then Peneranda.
When I told him about Joao Pedro he just laughed and walked off
We have wondering kids instead of wonderkids. They all amount to nothing, then go wondering off to go and play out the rest of their careers in the back arse of nowhere, whist we're left wondering why we ever got our hopes up.
I was wandering why these wondering kids kept wondering off.
Well he has managed to help his Brazilian club stay up so least the lad will only have one relegation by his name .
With Pearson at the helm, Pedro is going to turn into Vardy.
Is he 100% signing in January? I know all reports say he is, but has the club confirmed all terms etc with his parent club?
I like the look of him but I hope this is not one of those rumours that gets fed to fans for months and turns out to be
The club confirmed he is joining in January.
Poor lad ..
Cold English winter and a relegation battle !!
But will he score goals?
I ******* hope so
Fluminense's form picked up significantly after he was dropped. He had and amazing start and then completely bombed. No idea what happened to him.
We could have a really great Champo team next season in the unlikely event we make the right choices and sell the right players.
Bachmann/Janmaat Wilmot Whoever Masina/Quina Cleverly Hughes/Sarr Pedro Gray (Before u say anything AG has one of the best strike rates in the history of the champo)
Another Pozzo Network dud.
This genuinely could be good news for us if it means the vultures back off him for a while rather than trying to sign him for a knock-down fee in the summer. He's still very young for a striker so some variable form could be expected. Maybe this will convince him that worst case scenario a season with us in the Champ could still be good for his long-term development.
We need someone who can finish good chances and some half chances. Our build up play is alright, and Sarr looks like he could be good for assists. So regardless of everything else, if this lad has an eye for goal then we need to try him.
