https://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/18133596.watford-understood-bid-carlisle-utds-jarrad-branthwaite/ Highly rated 17 year old Carlisle United defender.
Seems interesting, but he's contracted to 2021 and Carlisle do not seem interested in any bids from us or even Liverpool.
Most players tend to peak at around mid-late 20s. I don't think that our current seeming plan of filling our squad with either 17/18 year-olds, or 35/36 year-olds will have a balancing out effect that's in any way equivalent.
Everton have had a £500k bid rejected. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...highly-rated-defender-Jarrad-Branthwaite.html
They're a league 2 team (and currently 21st in the league means they're a struggling league 2 team at that!) so finances for them are key. They've turned down 500k from Everton but I reckon a bid of between 750k to £1m and he'll be gone. He's not even a regular starter for them (with 9 starts) so that sort of money must be tempting for them - especially since he's out of contract at the end of next season. That's a hell of a lot of money for a league 2 team to miss out on. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league-two/transferrekorde/wettbewerb/GB4 Here's the record transfers for League 2. A fee of £1m would put him 10th on the all-time transfers list (notice one Ben Wilmot in #5!)
My cousins a Carlisle supporter I’ll get his feed back. He was correct with Graham smart and wright. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cousin says not seen much of him, he’s highly rated obviously big jump from league 2, but he’s heard done deal with Everton £750k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This isn't a real person. Both names almost sound like real ones but are actually made up. Jarred Braithwaite I could believe but they've pushed it a little too far with Jarrad Branthwaite.
Didn't realise David Holdsworth was director of football at Carlisle. Maybe it would help if we're really interested in the guy.
Never realised we were in for him. I'd have gone down to Brunton Park myself and put in a good word. United's in a bit of a pickle financially and on the pitch so selling good assets was always required. We seem to have a habit of picking up good players from here Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
